If she were the hypothetical postal carrier, she'd be prosecuted (no matter which side she was campaigning for). Decades ago, I represented some IRS workers who got in trouble for having pro-Clinton signs at their desks; this was during the Clinton administration.

So basically, it's illegal to use a federal government position to campaign. If you're a postal carrier, for example, and you want to support AOC's congressional campaign, you do it on your own time. You can't wear her campaign button on your uniform. Conway isn't "talking bad about another political party." She's campaigning while on the federal payroll and in the guise of her job, after having been warned numerous times since 2016 to cut it out, which is why a Republican special counsel has requested prosecution.
