Essentially in this draft alone Murray already has Kane, Lehner and soon Eichel with their 3 1st round picks. Pretty good haul considering all 3 will play and contribute alot immediately.

I'll give Lehner a chance to prove GMTM right before overreacting. He's young and competitive and knows how to win, atleast in the American League where he was MVP of the finals. He could end up a stop gap while Peterson, Makarov and Ullmark et al develop. GMTM said he needed 3 goalies, he just got 1.

Just got back from vacation and picked up the dog from the sitters. Tipped an extra $5 a day and on the way out she snidely remarked "that won't cover the carpet cleaning" well you too bitch, I won't bring him back here then.

I think McCormick may end up retiring because of his health concerns? Also, Kaleta isn't under contract and might not be resigned. Looking at the remaining players, looks like they could use a little more grit.

I'm happy to have Eichel if that's how it plays out on draft day. He's American so he could end up leading USA to the gold someday. Eichel also is regarded as more of an elite power forward as opposwd to finesse and may hold up better in the playoff grind. In Eichel we trust. Question is what number does he pick? 9 is clearly taken by Kane, maybe 15 like under 18 USA a couple years ago?

I think TMGM will go after Lehner to play goal, with the emergence of Hammond and Anderson under contract he should be available. Either that or Jones from L.A. are my guesses.

I love Zemgus, just see him as an important part of shutting down other teams top lines and he and O'Reilly would click well together offensively as well. I'm not saying it's all he can do but it might be his best fit on this team? This team being the one I projected with a solid top 6 already and a need for a shutdown line.

If GMTM turns around and deals Grigorenko (Roy still believes in him and spoke well of him a xouple days ago) and a D-man/late 1st for O'Reilly I could see a possible lineup looking something like this: Kane McDavid/Eichel Toffoli Moulson Reinhart Ennis Girgensons O'Reilly Foligno/Gionta Deslaurier Larsson Gionta/Hodgson McCormick/Hodgson Bogosian Gorges Ristolainen Zadorov/McCabe Pysyk Weber Ruhwedel Jones Johnson I'm not sure there's a spot for Gionta or Hodgson unless they fill in on the 3rd or 4th line which isn't really an ideal spot for Gionta?

I don't think Maloogas speculation about GMTM making offers for Toffoli and Martin Jones is too far fetched. Travis Yost was on with Schopp and the Bulldog not too long ago and suggested that it could happen and would likely cripple the Kings ability to match because of their salary cap situation. That would significantly upgrade the top 6 and goaltending and speed up the rebuild.

Sometimes I wonder where Nolans head really is, if he's in all the way on the tank he's pretty tricky. He's loyal to a fault to his boys which is admirable but not helpful in this endeavor.

Earlier this year, during the 14 game losing streak and approaching the trade deadline the media and opposing fan bases were up in arms accusing the Sabres of outright tanking for Mceichel and saying the NHL would/should rig the lottery to ensure the Sabres don't win it. Now maybe with the effort the team has been displaying and the total lack of effort from Regierzona and the Queefs maybe that sentiment has changed and the Sabres will be "gifted" the lottery pick? Just a thought, hopeful wish lol

I would love for the Sabres to land a generational talent but I will never give up on them regardless of how tough these last two years have been. I'm not openly rooting for them to lose but unless it's against a team like the chowdaheads , Queefs, or Canadiens I don't much mind when they lose this year because it helps the chances of drafting a generational talent. If they lose out on McDavid or Eichel they can still get a very talented player in the top 5.

This is not necessarily true, with Reinhart, Kane, Pysyk, and possible trades or FA signings this summer combined with the type of effort like tonight they could turn it around quicker than you think. Atrocious is a pretty strong word. That being said, you or anyone else who wants to jump ship now, see ya. Your type of "fan" won't be needed or missed around here when this thing gets turned around. Go Sabres!!
