I'm trying to find the actual ratings online to no avail. But Buffalo generally has a very large share 8-9% The question is is 8-9% in Buffalo the same number of eyeballs as 0.8 or 0.9 in L.A. or NYC?

Buffalo is the league's primo TV ratings market. I have to believe they have some concern about the Sabres.

I got home late and saw the MTL goals on replay. That second goal is emblematic of how the Sabres play defense. They play position. "Coach says I need to stand here." They pay ZERO attention to where the opponents skate to. They are mesmerized by the skater with the puck and the other 4 guys don't even exist to them.
