  1. By Byram's choice. You said Adams is afraid of arbitration. It wasn't Adams decision to avoid arbitration. It was Byram's and Timmins'.
  2. Because...follow me here...Byram CHOSE to sign a deal BEFORE arbitration. Timmins too. It may come as a shock to you, but it's the player's decision. Not the Sabres.
  3. Dude, all you do is toss around assumptions.
  4. Funny he never says anything about Bryson. You ASSUME he is. Bryson might not even be on the team this year.
  5. Okay. https://www.audacy.com/wgr550/sports/sabres/report-sabres-taking-bowen-byram-to-arbitration The fact they never made it to an arbitrator doesn't negate the fact the Sabres asked for it. Deals signed before are the player's choice.
  6. My neighbor ran a microbrewery in a garage for a few years. It was successful until his brother hijacked the company and built a fancy brewpub that they lost their ass on. I've been meaning to ask if he still owns the recipes because he made some awesome stuff. His Berliner Weisse was A+.
  7. Every cap site had Timmins getting between $2.2-2.7MM but SabresSpace says he's only worth $1.5MM. Who are you going to listen to? That's why he took Byram to arbitration.
  8. We can say anything we want and we're not right or wrong because we are just making it up as we go.
  9. Kakko was signed today.
  10. Seeing bands and artists was a common occurrence in those days at WOUR. Every band in for a show in Utica stopped by. And the Ozzy bunny thing was like 2 seconds. Then there was the time Molly Hatchet came by and brought some blow with them. You could actually hear them cutting lines on the air. (We kept an editing razor and a photo in a glass frame in the studio just for emergencies like this. 😜)
  11. Congrats, Owen.
  12. My brush with Ozzy. August 12, 1981. I was working part time at WOUR in Utica while I was still attending Syracuse. My girlfriend (and now wife of 43 years) and I had a grey rabbit for a pet, and we happened to bring it with us to the station on the same day Ozzy was dropping in for an interview before his show at the Utica Aud. He comes up the stairs and sees the rabbit, pets it and says "What a nice bunny," then goes into the studio. This was shortly after the bat incident.
  13. There are 500,000 Canadians that live within 45 minutes of downtown Buffalo and the Sabres count on these fans. Unlike the Bills who mostly play weekends, Sabres games are midweek and you need people close by to attend. Losing Canadians fans is another big hit.
  14. As a kid I used to cross the bridge and ride my bike to Crystal Beach. The border officer would just wave me in.
  15. There was an article in the Buffalo News saying the drop is over 30%. Can't blame them one bit. Even I get nervous returning to the US.
  16. I often make last minute decisions to go to shows, especially if I go on a ticket resale site and see someone dumping one seat cheap. Such was the case with the Pixies in Boston tonight. They are playing the MGM Music Hall which is embedded in Fenway Park, which is also hosting some big country show tonight, so it's going to be a zoo on Lansdowne Street tonight.
  17. I'm going to predict there will be a hockey trade before camp. We are going to move a current Sabres forward for another forward.
  18. I'm intrigued but never got into it. But I have let regular apple cider go bad.
  19. Should have traded him no matter what? I assume you mean "trade him for fair value." But we don't know what the Byram offers were. And please explain how having Byram with cost control for two years diminishes his value? If anything he's more valuable now.
  20. Jarmo Kekalainen was the GM who drafted him. In fact Chinakhov was expected to go in RDS 2-3 when Jarmo took him at 21 overall in 2020. So he must have liked the kid.
