  1. Okay, so shouldn't they be better back in Rochester or does spending time in Buffalo ruin you permanently?
  2. They couldn't score on a 1:53 5-on-3 advantage. Levi also not playing his best. Please explain why it's on the Sabres and not the Amerks staff?
  3. Ryan Miller being inducted to the Amerks HoF tonight before the Laval game.
  4. Umile was like Reggie Witherspoon at UB. Lots of winning seasons but nothing postseason. But he was certainly beloved as a coach. UNH has it's fans but it's not like there is a rabid fanbase in-state. Their football team is actually quite successful in FCS, often getting ranked and making the NCAA tournament. Basketball is like "we have a basketball team?"
  5. UNH is a forever middling program. They rarely make the postseason and never win when they do. They had a long-timer coach in Dick Umile who kept his job despite never doing much. I hoped that would change when he retired. It didn't.
  6. Four days out and there are this many seats left for a Leafs game in Buffalo. Wow.
  7. Sorry it offends you but it doesn't change things. Niagara County, ON population is 500,000 and losing them hurts.
  8. I was offered free tickets to the Red Sox and Blue Jays at 4pm, so I'm going and I'll catch up with the Sabres after. Great day for ⚾ baseball.
  9. You overestimate how many people can afford Sabres games and would go every night. Buffalo was already one of the smallest NHL markets. Without Canada we lose half a million in market population.
  10. Somebody has to want to make a deal. And not a bag of pucks for our 1st.
  11. The Hershey Bears are also, usually, one of the oldest teams in the NHL. More vets, fewer prospects. But maybe that works for them. Can't argue with results.
  12. They are going to win 10 in a row to finish the season and end up picking 13th Big city, middle of Ohio, no other pro teams, though Ohio State practically is one.
  13. Take a look at the seating map on Ticketmaster for next Tuesday's Leafs game. Thousands of unsold seats. Canadians aren't crossing the border anymore. (Lol, we finally got our wish to keep Leafs fans from taking over our building.) The Sabres have always relied on Canadians buying tickets. Without them the franchise is boned.
  14. You should have as many of your players experience what will hope to be a deep playoff run.
  15. Another team with nothing to play for who will start backups against us. /s
  16. Since Rochester will be the team playing in the post season I thought it's time for GDT thread just for them. This can be a catch-all until the games get more important. Tonight Amerks up 2-0 after 2 over Belleville. Well that turned quickly. Belleville score 4 in the 3rd and win 4-2. Goal #2 was scored 5-on-3, the game winner with 55 seconds left. ENG with 5 sec left. Remaining regular season games: Friday April 11 7pm vs Laval Wed April 16 7pm vs Cleveland Friday April 18 7pm vs Toronto Saturday April 19 4pm @ Toronto
  17. On my soapbox again...Goaltending doesn't happen in a vacuum. Reimer didn't win games earlier this year because our defensive play was atrocious. Since then we added a better defender in Bernard Docker and lost a defensive liability in Dylan Cozens. Bringing Reimer back is not the worst thing. Everyone wants elite goaltending but teams don't just hand out elite goalies. If they trade one, it's because they don't believe in them or think they have better.
  18. I think you must be getting a drink or in the bathroom when B-D is erasing players. You gloss over his physical play when it's exactly what the Sabres needed more of.
  19. I can see the logic of Östlund with Malenstyn and Lafferty. Two physical players to stand up for the young rookie. And frankly, Östlund is doing well with them. No goals yet but he's acclimating to the NHL game. He shows great anticipation and puts the same effort into defense. The Sabres know he's a scorer. They just want to see how he handles this level.
  20. And Bernard Docker. For a throw-in he's been a revelation at defense. He's smart and physical. Just what or backline needed. As for Norris, let him heal and see what we have next year.
