Mitts was invisible till the third, played good D and really needs a setup guy with him... Sam's pass to him and his shot almost beat Luongo... got get another passer on his line. Agree on the rest. Maybe move Jack to Mitts line and keep ERod up with Skinner and Sam?.. when Jack gets back.

Part of that is he doesnt have a finisher he clicks with, part the D are much better in the NHL

Casey needs someone like Tkachuck that has hands and goes to the net with force. KO was suppose to be that guy but he doesnt go to the net anymore... Maybe Wilson could help Mitts and bring up Olloffson to shoot on that line... move Sheary up or down and or put TT on top line... thinking out loud till Jack gets back

Might get him going... even if not he can't cause havoc. In addition. I see the fourth line more as Sabres 2nd line at this point with usage and scoring. KOs biggest deal is I don't see him going to the net like he used to. Not sure if its head issues or what because he seems to play hard behind the net and on the boards.

Risto call was right but does not happen if that trip interference call was made at the other end plus Pasternak had his leg out on purpose and has been drawing a lot of those calls lately... he was lucky Risto was trying to hold up to avoid him Risto should have gone straight at him and would have chested him into the boards, doubt Pasternak would have gotten up.

Yes it is D is much improved, 1st and 4th lines are improving, middle 2 lines have some pieces. TT and Mitts are improving just not as fast as Id hoped. Sheary is a decent piece. Hoping Bots can find a decent 2nd line center and next year either guys in Rochester step up and or draft pics can fill other three holes. Once that happens... but till then its gonna be an up and down rest of the season.

Sobotka played his best game was snuffing out chances and had a bunch himself... too bad he cant shoot.

It showed tonight. Blues locked down first line and ERod was the only really moving his feet on any other line... Blues had size and used it to counter and D wasn't hitting much. Baloo might have faired better on the back end in this situation than Pilut. Still Sabres need more depth scoring... Another two/three center to help Mitts as he grows up and two scoring wingers that may be in Rochester at this point in Nylander and Oloffson. Gonna be a long second half of the season if Sabres can't figure it out.

I am not sure about that at their level its easier... game has caught up and Canadians and Russsians are not the only countries with lots of talent and good all year long training. Its tough to win because there is more competition.
