From a roster building standpoint, trading Mitts for Byram didn’t help much. From an asset standpoint, they got a highly moveable, valuable asset for a player that appears to be playing his way out of the league.

He’s definitely proven himself. It also seems like he’s cut down on the absolute inexcusable turnovers that directly lead to opponent goals. He’s still good for one every game or two but I suppose if he’s playing 30 minutes a night, it’s bound to happen occasionally.

Because it’s not going to happen. Ever. Players with no term are rentals. They get dealt at the trade deadline. I know everyone thinks Adams is a buffoon but I have a hard time thinking he would even entertain the idea, especially with how much he’s top toed around this roster.

I think we can drop the “with term” or “contract extension” from any of these discussions. Of course you only want a player in return that has term or is willing to sign with the Sabres. Do the Sabres have a penchant for not doing that? It’s just a weird stipulation that would be mandated in almost any deal.

So are the Sabres only interested in picks for Bo or is that what teams are calling with ? 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I figured it out. I’m guessing Micah’s target audience is accustomed to see these types of charts so it’s a familiar language to them. It takes me a couple minutes to figure out which colors are good and which colors are bad. Typically, red is bad in most areas of life. So I have to recalibrate my brain to red being good and blue, a neutral to positive color, is now bad.

I know there are ways to make these charts a wee bit easier on the eyes and brain. A graph or chart should be something that easily identifies the measurable data you are trying to disseminate. I don’t get that looking at this chart. Maybe the color shade changes aren’t dramatic enough. Idk, but if it takes me more than a quick glance to interpret what you are saying, you probably didn’t do a good job of communicating that information.

How about a 4 year deal, $30 mill signing bonus, $8 mill annual salary. It gets him his $15 million, with flexibility from the team to burn the last year or two of the deal.

The $10 mill came from the gate keeping fans in the replies, not me. I don’t care what he’s worth or what he makes. If they get a deal done, great. If not, Ray Davis is in the wings.

I find it bizarre when fans gate keep contract valuation. Dude is going to get paid what he’s worth. I don’t need Skip from Cheektowaga to tell me he doesn’t think Cook is worth more than $10 mill. The market is the market. He’ll get what he’s worth. Hopefully the Bills can afford it but if not 🤷‍♂️.
