  1. What’s to like about the Staal hire? He quit or never bothered to show up here as a player? Did that endear him to you?
  2. Yeah a decade or so too late. They need the adult versions of these guys in the roster now.
  3. I’ll be shocked if those draft slots aren’t occupied by the softest players on the board. It’s what the Sabres do.
  4. Well we need to get the dirt bags quite frankly. That’s why JJ, Quinn, Muel, Power can all find new homes with their replacements being slightly less talented but 1000 times scummier and dirty. We need the guys you mentioned or someone akin to them. It should have been done with drafting. It’s not hard to find a kid with daddy issues ready to extol his problems onto some chumps face. Instead we get draft picks like Karabacek or Kisakov. Stop trying to find the next Kucherov and starting banking on one of the multitudes of dirtbags you drafted to pan out and become Marchand. Helenius is a nice start. Some of the later round guys the last couple of years could turn into what they need but they need them now. Give Bennet or Marchand $10 mill per.
  5. You can envision Tage being a physical menace?
  6. I think people would have a much easier time letting go if the team did anything to rectify their toughness issue. It was a problem 15 years ago. It’s a bigger problem today. Every player with an ounce of aggression and toughness has been jettisoned like they took a dump on the logo in the locker room. Even the mildly tough guys we’ve brought in, like Lafferty, Malenstyn, Clifton all play with a significantly less amount of aggression once they don the blue and gold. The roster needs to be gutted. It’s a sign these guys a) don’t really care about their teammates and b) don’t have the proper character this team desperately needs. You can’t have a roster entirely built with snipers, danglers and offensive D. They’ll get eaten alive by anyone giving two shits. Mediocre to bad teams like the Bruins still laugh at and toy with the Sabres. They are taunted right to their faces. They get treated like children, in part because they are. The roster needs an infusions of grown ass men who don’t need to be told to stand up for your teammates. I want guys on the roster who see one of their own laying unconscious on the ice and start committing assault on every opposing player. Even if their line mate tripped and fell, start swinging and ask questions later.
  7. I’ve lost hope indefinitely. I just don’t see anything getting done that needs to get done. They need to flip half the roster. Zero chance of that happening so…
  8. I don’t know if all the smoke means there’s a fire but it’s hard to ignore. I’m usually the most skeptical person on Earth when it comes to to hockey rumors but it’s coming from a bunch of different places. It might be everyone is just glomming off the original BS from the Rangers but if the Sabres can be the beneficiaries of a bidding war, I’m intrigued.
  9. It turns out my wife has an issue with bag policies at stadiums. Gotta see if my brother is down to Smoke Two Joints.
  10. It’s actually a young @darksabre
  11. You are acting as if this concept is new. All of the Sabres good players are going to leave. It’s not a matter of “if” it’s just matter of “when”. Frankly, I’m ready for this franchise to fold or leave. We hate them. They act like they hate us. Just be done with it already.
  12. He’ll be next to ask to get out. I would have a long time ago if I was any player or prospect. I’d go so far to tell them pre draft don’t bother drafting me to you poverty loser franchise. Did they already play?
  13. Sure. Ten first round picks plus their 3 best roster players.
  14. You mean how Rangers fans wouldn’t give up Kakko or Laff for Eichel. Yeah I’m done with that too.
  15. Sounds like you had money on the game. NHL officiating has been and always will be a disaster. No way should any one call be scrutinized, the entire system blows. The NHL doesn’t know WTF it wants to do with officiating. Sometimes they say they’ll let the players police themselves, other times they call penalties when a player touches an opponent with their stick. Until the NHL figures out how they actually want the games called, I won’t bother to even think about it. Garage league with beer league ideology and former minor league players with axes to grind, calling penalties on the teams that never gave them a chance. Bush league nonsense.
  16. Shawn Bryson is more likely to get voted over Jacob.
  17. From a roster building standpoint, trading Mitts for Byram didn’t help much. From an asset standpoint, they got a highly moveable, valuable asset for a player that appears to be playing his way out of the league.
  18. He’s definitely proven himself. It also seems like he’s cut down on the absolute inexcusable turnovers that directly lead to opponent goals. He’s still good for one every game or two but I suppose if he’s playing 30 minutes a night, it’s bound to happen occasionally.
  19. Because it’s not going to happen. Ever. Players with no term are rentals. They get dealt at the trade deadline. I know everyone thinks Adams is a buffoon but I have a hard time thinking he would even entertain the idea, especially with how much he’s top toed around this roster.
  20. I think we can drop the “with term” or “contract extension” from any of these discussions. Of course you only want a player in return that has term or is willing to sign with the Sabres. Do the Sabres have a penchant for not doing that? It’s just a weird stipulation that would be mandated in almost any deal.
  21. So are the Sabres only interested in picks for Bo or is that what teams are calling with ? 🤷‍♂️
  22. No but I’ve had a couple rounds with hide the salami. Is it similar? 😎
