  1. you pretty much nailed it....but i would make these slight adjustments...Dale Hawerchuk replaces Thomas Vanek...And Jerry King Kong Korab has to be in the lineup somewhere. He struck fear into opponents anytime they were anywhere near the boards.
  2. Some of the comments Im hearing on here making me shake my head. Gretzky DID have a peer at his level and of course that was Mario. Gretzky was better than anyone today..Altho I think Crosby could have been close to Mario and Wayne IF he didnt have the concussion issues. Crosby is still great but he is damaged goods. I have to remember that even 30 yr olds on here didnt see Gretzy in his prime. He was s smarter player than anyone else. By far. The guy weighed about 165 soaking wet and his speed wasnt great. So what. He had an eery ability to know exactly where the puck was going to be. Gretzky,Orr,Howe,Lemieux,Hull,Crosby on Mt Rushmore as far as non goalies go. Im not old enough to have seen Geoffrion or some of the older guys. Perrault should have been up there but he wasnt as driven as these guys. He had the talent. People in Buffalo over 30 are fortunate enough to have seen one of the top 3 goalies of all time on an every day basis. He was supernaturally good. Kinda like Gretzky was. And he was a stick as well at about 165 LBs. playfair was a very scary guy. so was Korab. note --Mike Peca---a smallish guy at 180 LBs --was one of the toughest players I have ever seen.
  3. stick with the muffuletta on decatur st
  4. minus the talent
  5. the oilers falling flat is hard to explain. they looked on the brink last yr of being cup contenders
  6. what happened to the oilers?...too much offseason partying in alberta?
  7. i thought it was a misprint on espn
  8. I guess Pegula is Howard Hues
  9. joe montana, tom brady...the list goes on... I liked savard he was a gritty player. He was hurt for a couple yrs. When he was healthy he scored very well. McNabb was a gifted scorer/skill player who had good size-esp for that time.
  10. cant believe he scored so many in a row
  11. if the locker room tension causes these guys to play like wimps then they arent real men.
  12. give him another year. too early to blame this whole mess on him.
  13. and we got sam reinhardt in the deal....
  14. he is way too soft. there was another guy the sabres had many many yrs ago who was just like reinhardt.....cant think of the name but it goes way back..
  15. re;peat after me.."paychex...,paychex,....paychex....."
  16. winning breeds winning. the sabres used to have a winning franchise until Pegula showed up.
  17. who is the bigger disappointment this yr Sabres or Oilers?
  18. agree completely with that.--look at the colts who did the greatest tank to get Luck. They did a perfect tank and im not sure they got such a great overall result. even if we got McDavid we would still be in trouble.
  19. yep waaay too early on this GM to condemn
  20. great players rarely become good coaches because they expect the players to be as talented as they are. and the sabres have no one close to housley in talent exc for maybe eichel.
  21. it would be a close game for a while before the sabres outmuscled them/wore them out
  22. ex employees of buffalo sports teams always seem to have the last laugh
  23. If this new GM doesnt work out in the next yr..Pegula needs to hire PROVEN big time winners at GM and coach. And he needs to leave them alone for a decade.
