  1. It’s not like saying that in the least. Was he sufficiently challenged enough to improve the facets of his game that needed improvement most by playing in a league that clearly didn’t challenge him enough? The WHL was too easy for him and he would have been better served by being able to stay in the A. But never mind as we’ve been down this road before and I have no interest in rehashing the subject. We disagree. ‘Nuff said.
  2. Houser with back to back good performances in net. Hope he can hold the fort until Levi gets back.
  3. He’d be the perfect coach for the next phase in our development. And Skinner would never see the lineup, his big contract be damned. Pegs and KA should put in a full court press if he becomes a free agent.
  4. Taking nothing away from his impressive accomplishment in the WHL this season, but I question how much a player can really improve his game in a league that couldn’t challenge him enough. I think his five points in six games in the A earlier this season is more reassuring to me that he is on the right developmental track.
  5. But that march to 9th place will be even more epic this time!
  6. Our Boy Savoie with another ho hum four point night and still 10 minutes to go in Moose Jaw.
  7. I admit I’ve only seen him a few times in his college career, but I’ve never been seduced by blazing 40 times in shorts unless he checks every other box. From the scouting reports I’ve read, he only checks the speed box, so color me leery that McBeane are overly impressed.
  8. There is simply ZERO point to bringing up “the kids.” Zip, nada, zilch. They can’t gain anything meaningful playing meaningless games on a team of guys who have mailed it in and are just riding out the stretch at this point. If anything, it’s a reason NOT to bring them up.
  9. Kulich actually looks like he’s regressed; not impressive at all. He looks slower, weaker, less in command on the ice. Perhaps it’s lingering effects from whatever injury he sustained earlier, but he’s not the same player.
  10. They are thru M&T bank. IIRC, it’s a 10 year term. Not sure of the interest rate on the loan though.
  11. I might if I thought we displayed one ounce of what it takes to get there, but we don’t, so there is zero reason to believe this group will all of a sudden figure it out. Major personnel changes need to be made.
  12. Sure is a different world. From $5 a seat and bring your own beer to $50K for a PSL and catered food and drink. And there’s just no putting that genie back in the bottle.
  13. Of course! I mean, can’t we all see the fire in his eyes?
  14. I agree both Kulich and Rosen should keep cooking in the A until they’re ready and they are not ready in the least. I have to disagree that Benson blocked them or anyone else this season. They blocked themselves because they couldn’t outplay Benson in camp. Same goes for Rousek, Biro, and any other forward currently behind him on the depth chart.
  15. I appreciate the perspective, but it just seems we are just so much worse than last season. That’s what happens under the weight of raised expectations when players just can’t handle it. Raised expectations should fuel a team though. Remember the syrupy letter to the fans by Okposo before the season. The one where he said the guys are embracing the pressure? It’s laughable now.
  16. This just in: we suck. Time to polish your clubs boys. But thanks for sparing us having to watch putrid efforts like the one that just resulted in the Oiler goal.
  17. We tend to get stuck on long shifts with regularity and that fatigue just kills us.
  18. You just can’t do it, can you? Instead you’re the victim of “bullying” and “hooliganism” and have to resort to insults as a defense mechanism. You are in the wrong and it does reflect on you. A little humility might help in the future. I will now “just let this go.”
  19. There’s a reason they call it the worst lead in hockey. Oh well.
  20. Sure sounds like you made that claim: But yeah, let’s qualify that stand alone sentence with another stand alone sentence, from a different paragraph entirely, just to avoid having to admit that you didn’t say something in the first place. It would have been easier just to apologize for not making yourself clear in the first place. Is there a Latin phrase for “intellectual dishonesty?”
