  1. Again, dumb or not stupid or not, Adams has been an utter failure as a GM in this league. Sure, some of the things he says in front of the mic has merit at times and defending against the offer sheet is one of them. But he is full of crap with his trite remarks and platitudes the majority of the time. Like that old saying goes, he’s all hat, no cattle.
  2. Lawrence Ferlinghetti decades ago wrote: "Pity the nation whose people are sheep, and whose shepherds mislead them. Pity the nation whose leaders are liars, whose sages are silenced, and whose bigots haunt the airwaves. Pity the nation that raises not its voice, except to praise conquerors and acclaim the bully as hero and aims to rule the world with force and by torture. Pity the nation that knows no other language but its own and no other culture but its own. Pity the nation whose breath is money and sleeps the sleep of the too well fed. Pity the nation - oh, pity the people who allow their rights to erode and their freedoms to be washed away. My country, tears of thee, sweet land of liberty."

  3. At this point so far, I’m more inclined to agree than not. But I also don’t like the quality of looks they’ve given him in his extremely short stints in the show meaning he, seemingly like they do with every skilled call up from the A, gets saddled with 4th line stiffs 99% of the ice time he sees instead of equally skilled offensive players more compatible with his style of play.
  4. Dumb or not, he has been incompetent to this point as GM of this team and his redundant line of bull$hit every time he gets behind a mic has worn quite thin.
  5. So would Danny Gare.
  6. This is an unfair critcism of Lindy imo. Lindy has spent decades coaching countless young players and part of that process includes "getting on" a player when other tactics fail and that player keeps making the same mistakes game in and game out. There's a process involved in figuring out how to reach and teach teach various players of different personalities and the same tactics don't work the same for each individual. Some players embrace the criticism, others don't. I'm convinced JJ chafed against it.
  7. Thanks to you, @dudacek and a few others, I've changed my thinking on Byram. I think this team has so pissed me off that I let his boneheaded plays cloud my objectivity and obscure the promise of his potential. He is still ascending and unless clueless Kevyn can get a king's ransom in return, let's just sign him and move on. But I wonder if he even wants to at this point.
  8. Particularly ironic given how KA doesn’t understand why he’s here.
  9. Not to defend the indefensible GMKA, but free agency is not a war room exercise. And the prospects practice ended at 10:30 so numbskull will have had plenty of time to walk back to his office to not make or receive calls, anyway, by the time free agency officially opens at noon.
  10. Kinda like that fallen tree in the forest.
  11. I’m not giving anyone in this organization the benefit of the doubt, especially the inept front office. But where the blame lies is irrelevant, anyway. There may be a million reasons why players no longer want to be here. But Ruff’s coaching style is a complete 180 from whatever Peterka and others have experienced in the past. Whereas both Granato and Ruff look at mistakes as “learning opportunities” for young players, Ruff is far less patient in that regard and I suspect that as the season wore on repetitive mistakes became less teaching moments and more “get your head out of your a$$ and fix it or take a seat” moments. And Ruff has never had any compunction about calling players out in front of the team during film sessions. Mature pros can handle that better than younger players and many don’t need the coach to point out their poor play as they are usually the first to see it themselves and cry “mea culpa” in front of the group. We will just have to agree to disagree about this new generation of young players being able to handle criticism like generations before them. We see the difference manifest across multiple facets of modern life, not just pro sports. But that’s a discussion for another time.
  12. KA is always going on about how they always have consensus, yada yada yada. All I know is that Ruff was learning how to build tough, resilient teams when Adams was still a piss pot running around in Clarence. Ruff also understands you build a team from the D end out. And while we may not yet have the answer in goal he would prefer, it’s no coincidence that big RHDmen have been a priority so far this summer.
  13. I’m convinced he chafed against Lindy’s tough love coaching style. And I have to believe that included calling JJ out during video reviews. JJ had been coddled by Granato’s TLC approach and just wasn’t prepared for the complete 180 by Lindy.
  14. Kesserling and Doan have no compunction about sticking up for their teammates, so that’s a start anyway.
  15. Less choosing violence than it is choosing less pacifism imo. I think the non response to the attack on Tage made Lindy blow a fuse.
  16. I suspect it ain’t him, it’s Lindy.
  17. This draft and the trades have Lindy all over it. I can just imagine how sickened he was watching the video from last season.
  18. Kulich is gonna get a long look at C as he did fairly well there later last season between Tage and whomever else Lindy put on the other wing. He definitely has the chops to play the C position.
  19. Saw an article saying he was going to Vegas vs Anaheim to save $13m in state income taxes vs California. But who knows, maybe he would come here to be close to home.
