  1. They are thru M&T bank. IIRC, it’s a 10 year term. Not sure of the interest rate on the loan though.
  2. I might if I thought we displayed one ounce of what it takes to get there, but we don’t, so there is zero reason to believe this group will all of a sudden figure it out. Major personnel changes need to be made.
  3. Sure is a different world. From $5 a seat and bring your own beer to $50K for a PSL and catered food and drink. And there’s just no putting that genie back in the bottle.
  4. Of course! I mean, can’t we all see the fire in his eyes?
  5. I agree both Kulich and Rosen should keep cooking in the A until they’re ready and they are not ready in the least. I have to disagree that Benson blocked them or anyone else this season. They blocked themselves because they couldn’t outplay Benson in camp. Same goes for Rousek, Biro, and any other forward currently behind him on the depth chart.
  6. I appreciate the perspective, but it just seems we are just so much worse than last season. That’s what happens under the weight of raised expectations when players just can’t handle it. Raised expectations should fuel a team though. Remember the syrupy letter to the fans by Okposo before the season. The one where he said the guys are embracing the pressure? It’s laughable now.
  7. This just in: we suck. Time to polish your clubs boys. But thanks for sparing us having to watch putrid efforts like the one that just resulted in the Oiler goal.
  8. Do we lead the league in crap goals allowed?
  9. We tend to get stuck on long shifts with regularity and that fatigue just kills us.
  10. You just can’t do it, can you? Instead you’re the victim of “bullying” and “hooliganism” and have to resort to insults as a defense mechanism. You are in the wrong and it does reflect on you. A little humility might help in the future. I will now “just let this go.”
  11. There’s a reason they call it the worst lead in hockey. Oh well.
  12. Sure sounds like you made that claim: But yeah, let’s qualify that stand alone sentence with another stand alone sentence, from a different paragraph entirely, just to avoid having to admit that you didn’t say something in the first place. It would have been easier just to apologize for not making yourself clear in the first place. Is there a Latin phrase for “intellectual dishonesty?”
  13. Nice shift by that line. That goal was well earned.
  14. I’d rather listen to fingernails on a chalk board than this anthem singer. But I must say, I’ve liked seeing UPL’s numbers being better than the opposing goalie lately. Nice.
  15. Something… something…MILQUETOAST!
  16. Total douche move. Makes Lehner look almost rational.
  17. LMAO! Bent out of shape? Hardly. But I understand your need to now make your preceding “milquetoast” sentence the qualifier for your completely separate next sentence, which is the gist of everyone’s argument with you on the subject of playing experience being a requirement for success as a coach. So only milquetoast coaches need that NHL or AHL experience. Got it. But perhaps you can be clearer from the start next time instead of taking umbrage. And we can’t get enough of that pretentious use of Latin phraseology. We are so fortunate to be in your esteemed company.
  18. You raise a good point that is true in all team sports leagues: they are all players’ leagues. I’m not discounting the importance of great coaching, especially at key moments in the contest, but it’s always been the players who make great coaches and not the other way around. I’ve had the good fortune to talk to several pro coaches in a few different sports over the decades and they’ve all said the same thing. The greatest strategists and tacticians just can’t get it done without the talent to execute the plan. As the old saying goes, it’s about the Jimmies and Joes and not the Xs and Os.
  19. Agree entirely. Although I’d prefer Rapp as a third safety instead.
  20. That Granato is not Bowman or any other championship coach is obvious. But that doesn’t make you correct about the argument you put forth that a coach needs to experience the grind of AHL or NHL playoff success as a player as a prerequisite for the job.
  21. You lost me here.
