The Sabres Lead the League in Penalty Minutes
K-9 replied to Porous Five Hole's topic in The Aud Club
Yes! At last, league leaders in something! -
Did you know that Trump once shot 15 holes in one in a row?
-
Nope, no similarities here. Goebbels would be so proud.

Sabres announce signing Jacob Bryson to one year 900k extension
K-9 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
He’s an 8th Dman to be used only in an emergency. At best. -
If you don’t see the similarities in ideologies and tactics between 1930s Europe and the far right agenda being implemented in the USA today, then you don’t know the history of the fascist movements in the last century as you claim, you refuse to see the similarities, or both. Either way, it’s incumbent on those of us who do know the history, who can see the similarities, and who refuse to wait until it’s too late like the weak citizenry and politicians of appeasement who just stood still and just watched it happen in the past. If you think we’re loud now, you might want to plug your ears in the future. One side note: it’s curious how Trump’s father and grandfather attended Nazi rallies in New York in the 1930s and openly supported the German American Bund and their various youth camps modeled after the Hitler youth camps. I wonder if any of that rubbed off on little Donald. I mean other than the blatant racism he’s exhibited over the years.

No emotion on my part. Just an intelligent knowledge of history, an ability to read their agenda and apply their actions to it, as well as recognizing something as plain as day. I can’t help it if you are ignorant of 1930s Europe and the strategies and tactics used by far right fascist authoritarians in several of those countries, including those used by the Nazi party in Germany. If anyone is emotional, it’s you as my use of the word “nazi” seems to trigger you. That’s not my problem. Feel free to resort to your usual snark now.

Trump has been on the Russian payroll since his visit there in 1987 with his first wife, Ivanka. He had already had several bankruptcies and US banks would no longer lend him money, which he was extremely hard up for. Enter Russian oligarchs and known Russian mafia gangsters, who conveniently rented apartments in Trump Tower in Manhattan. Trump used to brag about how he never had to use his own money in business, but bank loans instead. Overnight, his business went from a credit model to a strictly cash model. They had to muzzle Eric because he bragged about that fact. It’s also worth noting that the first time Trump publicly criticized NATO was after that 1987 Russian visit. Only idiots think that is mere coincidence.

He didn’t. And this has been known since he was shackled, put on a plane, and deported. Begs the question: how many other non-gang affiliated deportees were on that plane? It’s a legitimate question and you should be thanking that judge for requesting additional information from fed prosecutors (that they refused to provide) instead of labeling him a left wing terrorist sympathizer who is ok with terrorists staying in America.
-
Are you aware that this judge previously oversaw the Alien Terrorist Removal Court and he is perfectly aware of who’s been designated a terrorist group or not? Did you read why the judge ruled the way he did? That he requested additional information from government lawyers on the flights and the people being deported and that those lawyers have refused to provide it? Are you aware that he also has a concern that not every deportee on those planes is part of that terrorist group as claimed by the government? A lawyer for one of the deportees said the reason her client was designated part of the terrorist group is because he has tattoos? You may give a crap or not, bur there are rules of law that still matter. Perhaps Trump and his federal prosecutors in this case should respect that and let the process play out according to that rule of law instead of labeling those judges who don’t immediately give them what they want as left wing traitors.

We are too ignorant of history and too stupid to understand it even if we weren’t. But Eastern European and other European NATO countries aren’t. Especially Poland and Czechia whose people remember the Russian tanks rolling into their homelands. It sucks for Ukraine, but these countries will not watch while Russia rolls westward thru Ukraine. Instead, they will make Ukraine the battlefield before Russia can get close enough. They have ZERO reason to have ANY faith in what Putin says. None. At. All. And fuhrer Trump and gruppenfuhrer Musk can’t do anything about that.
-
This is a pointless discussion. Learn history, study the Constitution and understand the role of the Appellate courts and then perhaps you’ll have an understanding of the bigger picture here instead of your utterly absurd notion that this judge is an advocate for terrorists. Or maybe just listen to what Chief Justice Roberts had to say on this matter. Regardless, I refuse to get sucked into another one of your rabbit holes of discussion.

No, but as a restricted FA, he is limited by the Sabres’ right of first refusal.

Like one of us?

Another move out of the NAZI Germany playbook to add to the previous moves out of that playbook. Trump is a toddler having a perpetual tantrum when he doesn’t get his way. He is clueless about checks and balances. I want to see the actual charges brought against this judge and how many GOP reps have the stones to stand up for our system of government.

Lindy’s additional comments about “having each other’s backs” went farther than just going after the opponent in sticking up for a teammate, which Lindy said is a given. Lindy said that having each other’s backs also means hustling to make up for a mistake made by a teammate and making a better play. I thought that was spot on.

Not good for anyone except Trump, Jared, and their billionaire investors seeking to create Mediterranean beachfront resorts. Can’t have those pesky Palestinians messing up those plans.
