  1. I would think this is obvious to even the most casual observer. I also think the Ferguson prosecutor should have recused himself. I understand his father was a police officer killed by an African-American male in the line of duty, he comes from a family full of police officers and actually wanted to be one but couldn't. He himself is quoted as saying being a prosecutor "is the next best thing." All of it cast so much doubt on his ability to impartially conduct the grand jury in this case.
  2. It isn't worth much if for no other reason that in the modern vernacular, it is not considered a curse at all. Not in the least. And you know that. But you just couldn't help yourself. Glad we could indulge your desire to defend the faith from us infidels, though. I'll try not to laugh too hard at the diorama depicting the little cave children playing by the stream as the triceratops graze nearby.
  3. I'm dying to visit The Creation Museum in KY. Just to see how long I could keep a straight face. Great idea for a thread, op. All I can say is what the ancient Chinese proverb says: may you live in interesting times. When I think of the scientific advances just in my lifetime, it amazes me.
  4. Was at the game and watched Risto closely all night. IMO, he's the best player on our team. Nobody plays his position better on the squad. That says something really good and something really bad at the same time. Zadorov benefits from playing alongside him for sure. GO SABRES!!!
  5. I don't know what to think about this really. While it's impressive that he's dominating the competition like that, I seriously have to question the level of competition. I'm not sure the CHL is the be-all, end-all league that it's cracked up to be anymore. GO SABRES!!!
  6. This only applies to privileged white men with substantial land holdings and commercial interests. Seriously though, these words are exactly what pertains to the current situation. Sometimes when people seek to throw off the yolk of their oppression, it doesn't sit well with others who are unaffected by that struggle, let alone seek to understand it. Jefferson has long been one of my favorite founders to cite. His words endure and transcend time, cultures, and societal shifts. This doesn't mean that I don't also understand he was utterly full of crap at times.
  7. He'd look just as good on Eichel's wing, too. GO SABRES!!!
  8. But it's GREAT for business! Gotta keep the shareholders happy, you know.
  9. Our criminal justice system, at least the incarceration aspect of it, is a prime example of what happens when you privatize certain government functions. Inmates are nothing more than widgets on the ledger of for-profit jailors. The more the better. It's shameful that such an obvious conflict of interest is allowed in this country. I think every practicing graduate of the Chicago School of Economics and the Milton Friedman groupies it spawned, should be summarily executed. We can start by blowing up the World Bank and IMF.
  10. With all due respect, this is a crock. The blame for ISIS lies solely with Maliki and his bigoted decision to exclude an entire segment of his population from the political process on the heels of a hugely unpopular foreign occupation by a country never seen as a liberator but as a conqueror. And NO amount of US troops on the ground would have made a difference. It just would have been far more bloody and costly and I doubt anyone here would have liked that option. We never should have been there in the first place. And as much as this is now all about BO, that criminal son of a bitch Bush and his crony band of neo-cons is fully to blame for the mess. Period.
  11. They actually stuff the wings with pizza?! That's Buffalo-style ingenuity at it's best!
  12. Well, there are so many old pics being tweeted and retweeted, I'm beginning to think NO weather event took place in south Buffalo and the southtowns.
  13. Well, I copied it from the #lakeeffect twitter feed and whoever tweeted it referenced yesterday's storm. So I just assumed he was in the southtowns somewhere and took a picture. Not like I'm trying to perpetuate some grand twitter hoax upon the people.
  14. So, bottom line, do these prognosticators know what they're talking about regarding our prospects? I don't know. If it's anything like football, it's a crapshoot at best. GO SABRES!!!
  15. So my question would be which teams were at the top of the prospects list those years and how did their prospects pan out? GO SABRES!!!
  16. Wasn't sure where else to put this, but NOBODY repurposes Mother Nature better than Buffalonians!
  17. I love this line. "Now go out there and play like Latvians!" GO SABRES!!!
  18. Like the time Clinton lied about a ######. Except it was under oath. Under OATH. Every president in history has "lied" to congress, either by commission or omission. Sorry, but this doesn't come close to an impeachable offense.
  19. One of the best names EVER: Bacarri Rambo. Welcome to Buffalo. GO BILLS!!!
  20. While it's nice to know the amount of Vodka, can you advise on the ratio to tomato juice and other additives?
  21. All season I've been searching for a word that sums us up and I finally found it: JUGGERNAUT! GO SABRES!!!
  22. Now THIS is some funny schit right there! GO SABRES!!!
  23. There's no rule that says your C has to be a first line player or even your most talented. But perhaps I should have said that while I look forward to when he is given the letter, I'm in no hurry, either. My main point is that even now, at 20, he is the most consistent player we have in terms of bringing maximum effort EVERY shift. And he seems to demand accountability after losses when I hear him comment. Those are the two most important traits I want to see. He just a great example for the young players coming up in the system. Hell, the older ones can learn something from his ethic. GO SABRES!!!
  24. That's just Dickish. GO SABRES!!!
  25. I have a hunch he's gonna be just like he is now, only more experienced and more intense: hard to play against. Seems like every shift he plays the opponent knows he's been tested. GO SABRES!!!
