  1. The decision to kick the FG with just under six minutes to go ( the right thing to do, imo), tells me Fisher, based on what we saw his defense do most of the second half, was confident he could get another three and out and regain possession, which is exactly what happened. Then, with 3:47 still to go in the game he decides not to punt to the very same offense his defense just got that critical three and out against the previous series? That seems like polar opposites to me. I get that he may have been worried about our running game that gashed him much of the afternoon but, either way, it was a show of non-confidence in a defense he previously showed confidence in on the last series.
  2. Not sure how compromise is bowing to demands. I understand the point about leverage and I agree Risto has none, but sometimes deals are done to establish good faith moving forward. If Risto turns into the kind of player we all hope he can be, we don't want this to be the last contract he signs with us.
  3. Seems pretty clear to me.
  4. Fisher's decision to kick the FG was a vote of confidence in his defense. His decision to fake the punt was the opposite of that.
  5. Canada has nothing to worry about... ...until we need the parking space.
  6. I think $5.5 is the good compromise number if what we were offering and what he was demanding are to be believed. IIRC, $5.75 would be meeting exactly in the middle.
  7. Won't matter if Tyrod Taylor doesn't improve. He's just not moving the needle in that direction. Teams still daring him to be a quarterback and he just hasn't been one with any kind of consistency. I'm not fooled by a couple nice plays here and there. His whole body of work has been fair to middling so to this point and often downright poor at times.
  8. I'll be more than happy to revisit this after the election; nobody is infallible, after all. Until then, he's the best in the business imo.
  9. 538 doesn't agree. Three weeks ago, they gave Trump a chance if Clinton's polls kept suffering. It's been a complete 180 since the debate and building. Nate Silver's algorithm is the best in the business. He was 50 for 50 in 2012.
  10. From a RollingStone article today quoting Stephen Colbert's reaction to Trumps comments: Couldn't have been said any better.
  11. Eichel is going to beast this year.
  12. Putin's endorsement of Trump is all the information anyone needs about what candidate Russia fears the most. Putin and his KGB boys would play The Donald like a fine violin.
  13. Regardless where the next justice resides on the political spectrum, Obama should withdraw the nomination for the same reason McConnell and Co. gave for stonewalling it; the new president should have a say. I doubt if Obama sinks that low, though.
  14. One of the best gifs ever. I will soon be plastering this all over the net (as if it hasn't been already).
  15. Am I the only one who thinks GMTM and El Pegaul have absolutely ZERO compunction about playing Moulson in Rachacha if a hard decision needs to be made? If Fasching and Grant earn it in their eyes I can see them keeping either in favor of MattyMo.
  16. ^This. It will be interesting so see how far their collective intransigence on the SCOTUS issue goes if Clinton is elected. They've had no problems subverting the will of the American people for eight years, so I can actually see them digging in deeper on the issue.
  17. Yep. After the passage of the Civil Rights Act, dixiecrats were courted by the GOP and defected in huge numbers. There has never been a shortage of disaffected white men thinking the system screwed them over.
  18. I'm tired of this two thread system. We need a viable third thread option.
  19. The left-wing, 3rd party of its day. If the Republican party ever got back to its roots, I'd have to consider rejoining.
  20. And to think there was a chance these players could have had Trump as their owner! Stick to football, Richie. Opining on geopolitical matters isn't in your wheelhouse.
  21. If I were any more chill, they'd have to check my pulse. It's just interesting what ticks people off or not. I suspect it has to do with what side of the aisle one sits on, too.
  22. So calling someone a racist or a bigot is worse than being told to eat a dick and phuck off around here. Nice to know what the rules are.
  23. So, racist and bigot are the new N words? Well alrighty then.
