  1. They seem to be taking a page out of the Bills playbook. Bring in a bunch of veterans and let them compete for a role.
  2. If you are ranking defenses by yards given up, as has been the standard, you are literally using the NFL equivalent to plus/minus.
  3. This has been happening in the NBA for years. It’s a tool for smart people and allows internal cap teams an opportunity as well. One thing I can guarantee, it is almost impossible to create a CBA that somebody isn’t going to be able to manipulate to their advantage.
  4. Yep.
  5. All this talk about GM’s is fine and dandy but I’m here to tell you this is an ownership driven decision. Anyone that thinks any GM is free to make this decision without ownership approval is mistaken. Anyone that thinks that owners don’t engage in some form of collusion, is also mistaken. They want an occasional offer sheet to keep them out of court. They do not want any more then that.
  6. The 56 game season may be one factor working in their favor along with then getting an extra couple of weeks of practice. Get off to a fast start. Boston for one, could be missing a few key pieces early along with counting on a goalie who done think quit on them.
  7. I believe they still have two deals for goaltenders pending different things happening for two other teams. They may not happen but they are trying.
  8. And he’s not done.
  9. The deal is some what team friendly but the structure of both his and Sergachev’s deal puts $7.2 million in third year. Also, for those thinking someone should have done an offer sheet, remember, to entice the player, you would have to offer enough extra to cover three thresholds. 1) enough to cover the difference from no state income tax 2) enough to cover how much you would have to be over their offer, and finally, 3) how much over that offer you would need to be before a player decided it was worth leaving a Cup winning team for the unknown.
  10. On a run, not a pass. The record is for receiving TD's.
  11. Kind of what I expect as well.
  12. John Wawrow reports there may be final deal by Friday.
  13. The difference is, of course, that Kane can actually play and hopes to end his career in Buffalo some day although. It likely now.
  14. Speaking of “quite some time,” when was last time they got the ball with 7:11 left and ran out the clock?
  15. Yeah, I’ve been told by a lot of people that he has a chance to be a significant contributor in a couple of years. We will see. I was just interested in your opinion.
  16. Are you surprised at all by JJ Peterka making the German squad?
  17. Yeah, probably right.
  18. But if they played Bama tough they still would have probably been final four, especially if ND loses to Clemson. Now it’s most assuredly Clemson, Alabama, ND and Ohio State if Clemson wins and Alabama, ND, Ohio State and either USC or Texas A & M if Clemson loses. All apologies to Cincinnati.
  19. Now confirmed by several sources, both contracts run through 2025.
  20. I think what everyone is trying to say is that they now run concurrently. Previously McDermott’s contract ended a year ahead. So BB’s extension would actually be one year less in order to properly align. Of course, I could be wrong.
  21. Henry Ruggs was real useful for the Jets plan to draft Lawrence.
  22. I have been saying for years that having your top 30 players being part of your team instead of having AHL affiliations was the way of the future. Its like owners are about to have their little real life experiment to find out.
  23. If that valuation is right, the franchise is worth more then double what they paid for it. All the Forbes numbers are guesses.
  24. I think Borgen and Asplund are. The other two, you never know, sometimes lightning strikes.
