  1. There is definitely room for them to be worked into the lineup for stretches until they prove they can handle the rigors of an 82 game schedule. At some point it stops being about making room for rookies and actually trying to contend for a Cup. There’s a reason most teams don’t have 3 or 4 contenders for rookie of the year.
  2. First, again, I don’t think they get him but eventually they will have to make this kind of move. Playing Quinn and JJP fit the plan this year fit the plan. Next year, there should be no room for rookies playing significant roles unless they prove they earned it. Second, his situation will be different as he is closer to free agency. Third, players take home grown discounts with the understanding that the team will spend the money to increase their chances of winning a championship.
  3. On other thing, make no mistake, this is player driven. There is a lot of pressure on these guys by the NHLPA to not accept below market deals.
  4. As Chad has said, Cozens camp for the first time has indicated a willingness to sign for around Tage’s deal provided the structure is to their liking. I’m confident this gets done, maybe before the break ends. To have Tage, Tuch and Cozens locked up for the foreseeable future at less than $20M will be unbelievable.
  5. Need to discuss this over a drink, Eleven.
  6. No matter how many times you say, it isn’t true. Like most of us have said, they won’t do it. I believe they should, but they won’t.
  7. He’s still an RFA, so he has no choice but to play next year for $10M qualifying offer or leave that money on the table.
  8. I don’t think they trade for him but they definitely can afford him.
  9. I’m pretty sure you all know, but just in case, you realize that is from last January.
  10. I have no doubt.
  11. Topics like this always amaze and intrigue me. Surely people understand that their opinion on anything is not the be all, end all. I have no problem with everyone’s opinion, just that they think it’s so absolute.
  12. I do not think building capacity is linked to available seats but I don’t think they drop that low. I could see 15-16K, however.
  13. I don’t think you need that many anymore. Arenas through all sports have started to scale back, at least in most cases.
  14. If you saw the clip of the Cincy sideline when 58 made the hit, they all knew it was a late hit as well. As far as the holding calls the Cinci fans are complaining about on that last play, it’s mostly a misunderstanding of what is, and what isn’t allowed per rules. All that being said, the officiating has been brutal in these playoffs and I think the NFL is finally realizing they just address it. I’ve been saying for awhile that getting in bed with gambling is going to have at least one positive effect. Gamblers are going to insist on fairness and a correct outcome. I could even see a lawsuit happening. It might not be winnable but someone with deep pockets could make things uncomfortable for them.
  15. I didn’t realize it was post expansion. It makes it better for me. Esposito may be too high for me but you can’t argue with his numbers. I’m not going to assume anything and won’t talk you off that hill but Orr changed the game and before his knees gave out was the single most dominant player ever.
  16. Like someone else said, this seems like common sense. The trick is trying to stagger out when your players are holding back so you have a competitive chance in most of the games. Also, another reason you need a goalie capable of steeling a game here and there.
  17. Bertuzzi is exactly the kind of “me first” huh that Adams should, and will, avoid.
  18. You are not the first who thought I was labeling them a “Cup contender “ this year. I was talking about going forward, and how there wouldn’t be room for “on the job training “ going forward.
  19. And you, going out of your way to defend the creep, I guess that says all I need to know. Thank you.
  20. Showing my hand? I actually like when idiots like him speak their minds. It shows how idiotic and contemptible they really are but I hold how they treat woman and bully everyone that I hold with much greater contempt. The midgets might willingly get into a ring or allow themselves to be human bowling balls but I’m sure the woman in Bobby’s life didn’t consent to the abuse they took. Does anyone have the right to assume they are relevant? Speak all you want. Expect anyone to care? Not so much.
  21. Hmm, midget wrestling vs. wife beater/ nazi supporter.
  22. Hmm. Quinn, JJP and Krebs learned more practicing with the big club. Savioe next year. I feel a trend developing.
  23. This is the article I tried to link a week or so ago. As I said then, if you can get your vote locked up now, do it.
  24. No “allegedly” about it.
  25. Yes, he was a scumbag.
