I think it’s a completely faulty conclusion. Actually, there is no way to even make a conclusion based on what he tracked. We all know that the problem with the Sabres has been the forwards. So even though the D is playing the kind of transition game that Botterill envisions, but our forwards are incapable of getting a shot, therefor the D doesn’t get a shot assist,.. it means there is a disconnect between Ralph and Jason. Oof. I think I just pulled a muscle just thinking of reaching for that one.

It's both. I just get a little tired of hearing complaints about what "they" are doing to the environment from people that have hour commutes to work, take three vacations a year on airplanes, have four 50+" tvs going, and don't turn of the lights in the bathroom or shut their computers down. I probably do more for the environment by living only six miles from work (a choice I made even though I could have a much bigger house and yard for less money farther out) than some kid yelling at me to recycle.

Pretty interesting stuff. As per usual, with discussions using stats, I am left with some questions. He says that dumping the puck in just gives up possession, which is silly. He must have know that because he then says that we were actually 13th in the league at recovering the puck, but still at only 33% recovery. So, 67% loss of possession. My question is what is the turnover % when carrying the puck in. Unless it’s drastically different, then he’s just cherry-picking stats to make a point. Still an interesting read.
