The other thing I truly worry about with this franchise is: The attendance is still low at least from what I see on TV, we are now getting close to 15 years and no playoffs and the young generation in WNY just will not latch onto the Sabres like previous generations did. If the Sabres are not careful, there might be a real change this team is sold and relocates. I hope I am way off on this but things have to change and fast.

The only thing I will kind of stick up for Adams on with all these no move and no trades everywhere throughout the league it is hard to utilize that cap space the way you truly want to: Adams can want players Y and Z but if those players won't come here, not much can be done. And Adams helped create that as well. But the issue starts at the top with Pegula. And a lack of a top flight executive at the top that can truly help Adams and the rest of the staff. The Sabres aren't making $ either at the gate, and Terry won't spend what is needed. The biggest issue here is trading guys like Reinhart when most players usually start to peak at 24, 25 and that is when we have shipped out some of this high end talent like Eichel and Reinhart. Sadly the Sabres will have to just go with what we have, develop, and hope for the best.

If this presser is to announce that Kevyn Adams is getting PROMOTED then the issues in this organization go way beyond talent on the ice, HC or any GM that we bring in. On what planet does Adams deserve a promotion at this point?

Because it means more then most fans realize: Maybe it is coincidence, maybe not but: 11 of the last 20 Conference Finals teams in the NHL are from the tax friendliest markets: Florida, Texas and Nevada An example: I believe this is why teams like Buffalo and Montreal have given out long term deals to young players earlier to help ease that tax disadvantage, especially Montreal. It is a risk that some franchises have to take more then others.

I think the Sabres need TWO legit centers, Cozens and Tage would be more consistent and successful on the wings, and this would push some of the other forwards down into better roles as well.

Absolutely tragic as it hits close to home a bit as my nephew was murdered at 25 by a negligent driver in NJ as well. Something I carry with me every day now for 7 years. I cant imagine that family right now, my heart breaks for the Gaudreau family. And for the Columbus Blue Jackets as well, as they have endured tragedies lately. Very sad day for the hockey world. Went to Venice, Florence and Rome in 2018 and really enjoyed it. I agree with the pickpockets, just be mindful and careful and you should be fine. Was there in May and Rome was way too crowded, especially a tour of The Vatican, could not truly enjoy it. Florence was beautiful but had some bad experiences there. One thing to remember: If taking a bus in Florence, be sure to get your ticket BEFORE you get on the bus. We waited, thinking we can pay while on the bus, an two 'police officers' approached us and said you needed to buy before, tried to fine us 250 euros and make us seize our US passports. Thankfully, an elderly woman who spoke Italian stepped in and scolded them and we didn't have any issues.

Sure he could But the Sabres cant afford to put all their eggs in 'what could be' The UPL extension is fine, if Levi pops in 2 years, UPL should be a pretty moveable player IF need be. I know it is not a perfect 1:1 comparison, but UPL's deal reminds me a little of what the Buffalo Bills did with Ed Oliver, they took a risk and paid him on what he could be, and so far it has paid off. In the new hard cap NHL, where the 'No Income Tax 6' (Tampa, Florida, Dallas, Nashville, Vegas and Seattle) are going to have built in advantages that even the Rangers or Leafs can't touch, teams in higher tax markets like Buffalo are going to have to be razor sharp on extensions and takes risks earlier to keep costs down to compete with these teams listed above. Adams did well on this with Cozens and Tage, only real issue so far is Cozens has not lived up to his end yet, hopefully we get the Cozens we envisioned in 24-25 and beyond. Montreal has done this with their Big 3 and they knocked it out of the park IMO with the Caufield, Suzuki, and Slaf extensions. Risky, but very manageable cap hits in a horrible tax province like Quebec.

I agree, addition by subtraction. And I would rather see Benson and Quinn have clear paths to take big leaps this year then have a 5M AAV player who maybe has seen his better days take that spot.

Should we be alarmed that the Sabres overall prospect pool is overrated or is this more about perhaps Savoie is the one that was specifically overvalued?

I like the player we got back, just shocked it took Savoie to get him.

Question for the group: Do you believe the Sabres are operating with their own cap or will Terry spend close to the max?

If Kevyn Adams appears to have no cajones to make a big trade or be aggressive in UFA, how in the world can we expect Adams to do something that almost every GM HATES and that is signing one of another teams's RFA's? ZERO chance of this happening IMHO.
