The problem is that it can be perceived as a guilt tactic. He is essentially calling out his teammates by needlessly trying to take complete responsibility for the failures of the team. I have to imagine it rubs some guys the wrong way because even though it may seem genuine it's kinda like "you guys are doing this to me."

This is why I need guys like Ullmark here. We need dudes with his mindset to calm the locker room. O'Reilly is a good player, but I think he's one of those people who is super sensitive to the mood in the room and it messes him up. People are like that.

This team just desperately needs more positive attitude guys in the room. They don't need someone to kick their . They need guys who are upbeat and inspire hope. I'm sure most teams have players who suffer depression issues, or are kinda mopey, but you can bring those guys along with you if you have a good group of guys around them. This is a bit much. That's essentially the attitude you need to have as a pro athlete. You'll hear it from goalies a lot: "I let that goal in, but the only thing I can worry about is making the next save." This team seems to get down on itself and let prior results weigh on them too much. Kyle is right.

I remember them making a big deal about how sad Regier was to have to fire Ruff. Yeah, okay Darcy. Really broken up about trying to save your own hide.

Lindy should never have been fired because Darcy should have been fired first.

I think, had Darcy not been in charge, the rebuild and how it was presented to our veteran guys like Miller and Vanek would have been different. Darcy really things up by having so little faith in the process he was starting that he needed to paint it as the end times. Yup.

I think Darcy basically told them he was shipping them out to do them a favor. Unfortunately they've both just bounced around since then instead of landing anywhere long term. I can't help but think they might have preferred staying here despite the rebuild. I don't think either guy ever really wanted to leave Buffalo.
