He got the 89 goals in two seasons after being drafted. I don't recall a lot of chatter that he was going to be the greatest goal scorer in Sabres history. But that was before a time when everyone saw everything as amaaaaaaazzzzziiiiing.

But stop trying to make Dahlin into something he isn't yet. I'm not being negative, I'm just calling it like I see it. Dahlin has shown signs of being a top-notch contributor to the offensive side, despite almost no scoring touch, and defensively he's JAG. He's a very good prospect. I don't feel the need to scream Norris! every time he makes a play behind his own net and passes the puck to a teammate. You're the one trying wayyyy too hard to be proven right.

That's becoming pretty obvious. Botterill has a history of being taken in trades and a history of sitting on his hands. He even said recently that as a "young GM" he has to figure out what fellow GMs trust. This franchise can no longer afford to wait for on the job training to kick in. Jason would probably be fine in the cap guru role like he did in Pittsburgh — although look at the Sabres' situation.
