  1. The first period puck hounding Globetrotter demonstration was something to see. Hate to say it, but it was Bills Bengals on ice.
  2. Why is this funny? #love
  3. Probably just the opposite. Four more years of winter. He's probably grinning that grin.
  4. I guess. It really doesn't mean that much. You changed your wording.
  5. Sure. But a spot is not per se on the line.
  6. Are we trying to kidnap the vice president's granddaughter?
  7. I've eaten 110 percent of a pizza. GERD. Do you slow people need an explanation? I'm sorry that I try to make this place a little smarter and dare I say classier. I'm done. You people.
  8. I mean, we were told the pandemic had lasted three years in early 2022. So yeah. Words are fun.
  9. Everyone deserves a defense. Well, almost everyone. Tony Danza does not. The man's life is over. He made many mistakes. There's a complete story to be told. Whitewashing people is dangerous. If modern standards of cancellation were applied to this board, few would be left.
  10. Relax, bro. It was a Seinfeld reference. Even @Doohickie got it.
  11. Give it a whirl, sonny.
  12. Your granny died and nothing but Dahlin's letter made you lose control?
  13. Yes you tipped your hand by exaggerating something he might have said. Even if he said Hitler did some good things, it doesn't make him a Nazi supporter. I think Trump did a few good things. I don't support the MAGA movement. You mean Russia state media during the Cold War might have made up a story to make an American sports icon look bad?
  14. Is speech free if exercising it results in your cancellation?
  15. Do you think a midget can consent to being choked out with suspenders? Nazi supporter? Now you're showing your hand. Hull sued that particular publication BTW.
  16. Close to the playoffs and trying to get better at some risk to the future? Is this allowed?
  17. Hasek was a Sabre for 10 years. And I can show my work. If I have to.
  18. It's a tough one. What if Rick's been engaging in midget wrestling all these years and ArtVoice prints the story?
  19. Bullfrog marmalade.
  20. There's no ***** way Rasmus Dahlin is coming into our building and winning the Conn Smythe again! Has anyone even won it twice in a row in a losing effort?
  21. As a fan of self mutilation and self shame, I looked back 11 years to see if we're truly in uncharted territory on this date in the playoff-less Pegula Era (see how nice I've become?). The only times we've been close to a playoff position on January 30 were in 2017 (20-19-9 and 7 points back) and 2019 (25-19-6 and 3 back). In 2012 and 2020 the records weren't terrible, but they were FAIAP out of it. The rest will not be spoken of again until 50 years after our deaths. (In 2021 the season had just begun. The Sabres were 4-3-2.)
  22. I was off a little. Ted called the Forum and had them patch WGR radio into the live sound from the arena. WGR folks then mixed arena sound into Ted's call over the phone. Ted was watching CBC presumably as his son Joey used headphones to listen to the announcer and tell his dad about time remaining, penalties and the like. The attached pic is from Budd Bailey's History of the Buffalo Sabres. An open question is whether the game was shown on Channel 2 with Ted's call synched.
  23. One of the more impressive ties ever. Montreal was a machine. They finished that season 60-8-12! I might dig up some more info on the following... Ted Darling couldn't make the trip and called the game from home. There's more to the story. As I recall his young son helped him produce a rather sophisticated show using arena sound from Munreal.
