It was the spring heat wave of '02. Canadiens at Sabres. I had dawdled in the parking lot waiting for RJ clips on the radio. When I finally headed down Perry St., which was by then basically abandoned, I saw a really nice sports car off to the side. The hood was up, and it was steaming. So was the athletic young man peering at the engine. As he pulled off his shirt so he could use it to grab onto the radiator cap, I slowed down, lowered the passenger window and asked, "Need a ride?" I'll never forget Rhett Warrener's reply. -
Hot takes gone cold? Revisit your Sabres agita

Google was not my friend. -
For example... I always hated Doug Gilmour for quitting on the back check in OT of Game 7 vs. the Pens in 2001. He allowed, in my mind, Darius Kasparaitis to go unmolested and beat Dominik Hasek with a simple wrister. Yes, I blamed Doug more than Dom. Upon further review, Gilmour did skate hard, at first, but then he did disconnect his controller. He wasn't catching Kasparaitis, and he knew it. (He should still be criticized for giving up though... It's not like it was either going to be a goal or a save. There were other possibilities.) But, yeah, Dom was the bum.

Come on Uncle Smell, tell the Dom story! Pleeeeeeeeease. -
Does no one remember the flop sweats KA and DG had when big old meanie Wawrow (filling for BOM Harrington) asked them to state that making the playoffs was the goal this year? KA is holding up his end of the bargain.

It would be a good bet, but lawyers would have to be involved, and no one wants that. "Plenty" would have to be defined, and the point total broadened. I might be willing to bet that if the Sabres finish with a point total of 86 +/- 5, I could get 50% or more of the posters on this board to say they were OK with the season. It doesn't seem plausible, but of course there will be injuries; young players regressing; growing pains with Levi, who will nonetheless look very good in stretches; bad officiating; "youngest team in hockey"; take away the losing streak and we would have made it; the goal was always to continue to develop the kids; KA wanted to make a move, but the other GMs are meanies; and the like. It's just the makeup of this board.

I egregious.

Plenty of people will be OK with it, and you know it.

Wiki has his bday as tomorrow. I still love this post especially for the romanticism and mystery of the future. We are a soul less and joyless fan base now because we think we know the future. Now now settle down... It's not quite time... Maybe the year after next. I call BS and I know you do too. That the franchise wants the fans to feel this way makes me super duper suspicious.

I think the answer to Smell's preference is how food is engineered to be addictive nowadays. It explains how our grandparents could eat a three inch square piece o' cake and drink four ounces of black coffee and be happy.

My concern is he's just parroting what he's heard. He's a solid company man.

Your decline continues. Now you're into personal attacks. You're really willing to soil and sully yourself over Kevyn ***** Adams and some fantasy of a future dynasty. Just stop. There are reasonable alternate opinions that KA is a bum.

That's quite a compliment coming from a gourmand such as yourself. Usually I can't boil water. The dough was nice. Mama Cozzi brand. Very nice to stretch and it got those big bubbles that a lot people like. It was crispy but still somewhat airy inside
