    I've seen 'stat' thrown around in regards to Canadian holidays. What's the etymology of "stat" in this context? Static Holiday (as in the same day each year)?

    I get it, although it's a pretty thick accent. If someone speaking English as a second language said, "ten-cue" to me, I'd understand what they said.

    Seriously, that's harder to type than Thanks on a screen keyboard. Or "Tanks", as I kinda picked up the last couple years.

    If anything, I wish stats like this would discourage the people that say things like "Sit the entire Sabres and let the Amerks play in their place". There's a world of difference between the AHL and NHL, even taking MM's (likely) motivation to play out of his mind and prove something into account.

    That thing where Elmo repeats the word of the day over and over to the tune of Jingle Bells in every episode. :death: Seriously, I was in my late teens when Elmo came around. I knew Elmo was hated, but it hasn't been until RosePie has started watching SS regularly that I realized how vapid and ridiculous it is, and how anyone making the show would devote like 20 minutes of each hour to it is beyond me.

    I'm not sure I can get used to the scoreboard being over center ice in the Islanders barn.

    Considering how much time the Sabres have played with an Empty net, they're doing pretty well. Figure two minutes for every loss, that's like 40 minutes of EN play, and before last night only 6 goals against.

    I see we're talking quasi-legally now. :) I have NHL.tv, but I use my sister's account to watch NBC Sports. I should really investigate MSG GO too if it doesn't get blocked in local markets so I can catch Philly games.

    I don't have much issue with those lines. Sam needs something; he does seem to be playing more physical, that can only be good to have two somewhat physical players with Eichel.

    Unfortunately, when using Hammymath 2 and 2 end up being a seeming vendetta against some players.

    They didn't look bad. Pressure at times, decent number of shots, but they made a backup look like a star as usual.

    They went several games with the EN and not allowing a goal, they were terrible tonight but they've looked the rest of the season.

    Geez, Lehner, head in the game. On the bright side, I've seen two times Lehner played the puck tonight that didn't immediately end up on an opponent's stick. Lehner needs a good coach. In the last minute of the first, he came back to cover the near post with his skate and stick and just stopped, leaving a good square foot of hole under his arm. That just can't happen too often or the puck is going in.

    First: yes, me to. It was Ekblad, and they something of a toss-up for the Sams and Draisaitl, with the latter almost never included in the conversation of the #2 pick. Hindsight and all.

    I was thinking beat the Pats, so going into week 17 the Ravens are still tied with the Bills, but the Bills are ahead by 40 on some point-differential tie breaker. The Ravens and Bills both lose the last week, but the Bills get blown out 52-3 and the Ravens lose 21-20.

    I'm really mad about the reach for Manuel; think of the RB the Bills could have picked up in that spot and likely still gotten EJ in the second.

    Police, right? Ontario Provincial Police. I always wondered how an American act ended up signing a song about the Police in Canada.

    Oh, I completely agree. The Bills need to win out to have a chance, and the chances of them winning out are around 10% in my non-evidence-based opinion. I didn't know that, that's just gravy. I've been thinking of the Billsiest ways to blow this shot at the playoffs, and that scenario isn't even that Billsy. It'd be pretty reasonable if the Bills won out and still missed, other than the Billsy decisions they made earlier in the season (Peterman and that DL they cut and haven't stopped the run since).

    The Bills would be sitting pretty well if they win out. Anything less seems really dicey, you never count on getting in with 9 wins.

    I've seen the first half of it several times. It's in two files on my Plex server, and it reverts to German, no subtitles whenever it hits the second file (the back side of the DVD), with no way to switch. I really need to mkvmerge it into one file. :(
