I was going to enter his name in the discussion. Matthews may not even be the most prolific goal scorer from his draft year. Right now Matthews has an ever so slight edge in goals per game, but Laine has sustained it over more games played.

Check out the Fighter if you ever have the chance (and the stomach for a Marky Mark "acting" performance). That's about as good as he gets. I can't imagine there are too many movies that landed both the best supporting actor and actress (and a 2nd nominee in the latter as well).

Is he up on an emergency recall? They may have to send him down at least as a paper transaction before immediately recalling him. But anyway, there's plenty of games left to play. He may regress a bit, completely changing this discussion. He wouldn't be the first young player to have that happen.

And then the next movie he filmed after that was Batman Begins, so he immediately had to bulk back up to super shape. The dude's heart is going to fail on him someday and most people will not even realize how much he's put himself through over the years.

It sure is nice to finally have a player that a national broadcast can't stop praising throughout the course of an entire game. I know people have always complained about how they do that, but this definitely changes things.

I'd say Buffalo controlled it for a while in the second up until Nashville got their 2nd goal. After that, it was all Nashville the rest of the way.

Did they gain the zone at any point so that they could even get that chance tonight? They kept constantly trying to pass through defenders at the line. If they are unable to adapt over the course of a game, there’s going to be a lot more of this.

Skate up the middle, then a lateral pass towards the boards at the blue line. Wash, rinse, and repeat. They finally tried something different with maybe 5 minutes left. I’d love to know why it took so long.

They use lower lighting in the seating bowl so I can see where that comes from. This game today, it’s that yellow on top of the boards that is throwing me off, as crazy as that sounds.

He’s not really much of a prospect, but you’ll get plenty of guys who return to the USHL for a year prior to transferring schools.
