Out of curiosity, are you a Sabre fan who never actually lived in the area? I have a hard time picturing someone who did live there and is just learning that WGR exists through an in-game commercial.

Speaking of Olofsson, there's a guy who is trending towards a really healthy raise next year. No you can't just waive someone. There's that pesky little thing called the salary cap. So yeah, you can waive him, but then you only free up enough money to replace him with a minimum salary player. He's at least performing at that level, right, the level of that replacement player? I'm not so sure this team currently has that guy to fill that same role at that price. -

Would that qualify as a concussion? -
Odd, it won't let me remove the tag from the above quote. But anyway... Sadly, welcome to planet earth. If you show me a place where these people don't exist, I'll show you green skies. Now let's see who will chime in with some crazy weather system that would cause green skies.

It might convey that if you completely ignore the post it was in response to, saying that all things Penn State should have been eliminated. Because that's a perfectly reasonable response to the scandal.

Hopefully it's the same mental block they have with Pittsburgh. -

With the team right up at the cap, there's some significant amount of cap gymnastics required to replace Sobotka with someone in the AHL like Thompson. That $3.5 million cap hit doesn't just go away short of some very specific scenarios playing out. So if you're going to replace him on the game day roster, it's tough to have it be anyone but the one spare forward, Erod. -

Don't worry, he'll get his 16 goals tonight to get that up to 1 per game. -
I just got one of those scam robocalls about my social security number being suspended. The best part was that the robot voice actually gave itself a name, "This is officer Cindy Smith from the social security administration...". I don't remember the specific name, but I'm now convinced that every single robot voice I've ever heard is a real life person. It had a name, so it had to be a real person.

But hey, if we get rid of them, that sort of thing will never happen ever again in the history of mankind.

Updated Injury Report EDIT Sheary now Week to Week

And Bogosian moves to LTIR to make cap space for a callup of a new 13th forward. -
My elbow hurts just looking at that still shot.

Hey, you never know if it's great first date banter until you try.
-
The thing that bugs me about Sheary getting hurt is how he scored early last year and then fell off the cliff. If he's going to avoid falling into that trap again this year, the early injury doesn't help. I really hope he gets over this quickly and go back to being a guy who will throw in a goal every 4th or 5th game.

My personal favorite was the complaining about violating "NFL etiquette". This from the same guy who is a notorious taunter. What's next, Smell complaining about people posting GIFs that make no sense?

It's probably the ultimate who cares story, but this Richard Sherman thing is pretty funny. You have to love when an attention ***** gets caught blatantly *****ing for attention.

Talk about one family member taking a solid beating from the short end of the genetic stick.

I have to say, this is one of the more odd exchanges I've ever seen on here. I guess everyone has their thing, but I never would have expected to see two of them.

People can agree with his decision but at the same time be disappointed that he made it. A fanbase losing an elite player in the middle of the season? Of course they're going to be upset and frustrated.
-
I'm fine with that too. If they want their paid teams that's fine, but at that point it should be separated from the academic side. If an elite athlete is enrolled in a bunch of cupcake classes with zero interest from day one, I hope that never takes away a spot from someone who would actually be there for the education.

If they need the space, they'll do it without even blinking an eye. He's essentially in that spot already, but there's no purpose to making that official unless they do need the space. -

The label is so unfair to Connolly. Was there ever a so called "bone" injury? The guy had his brain scrambled and was never able to fully recover from that. -
How exactly does that work anyway? They've always had the right to profit from their name and likeness, they just weren't able to do both that and play. The thought that's constantly thrown out there about how they should be treated just like any other student drives me crazy most of the time. It's fine if you want that, but let's not pretend that everything available to players is available to the average student. My personal opinion on all of it is that we will eventually see a complete split between the student-athlete label. I don't know how they get there, but it's only true solution I can accept. Allow them to go to schools specifically for sports and don't count as a spot in the classroom. Those who want to do both? Good for them.
