Is this going to be the same team that can score in goals one night and then get shut out the next?

Sabres to place Alexandar Georgiev on waivers today

I feel like I’m on the lowest end of the old guy group around here and I don’t think this reference was all that old. He played during our superbowl era and later. -
And the funny part about that is the mower was on the slope of a ditch and the physics of actually kicking a rock up into the road would be mind blowing. Yeah, that’s a big one. I’ve never understood why people will give a bigger buffer to a parked car than they will to the moving one. I get that people don’t have a good feel for exactly where the right side of their vehicle is, but that still should lead to crossing the yellow line with a car right there.

A reference to a long since dead social media site? I guess they can go with sabrebook instead.
-
An oncoming car this morning swerved into my lane to go around a lawnmower that was 10 feet off the side of the road. What would you consider to be the more imminent threat, the oncoming car or the mower not even remotely close to the road?

Since we’re running with stupid stuff, play on history and call it sabredom.

You can release players. The mutual agreement is how you get that contract off of the books. With a release, it still counts. -
The whole practice of giving a fanbase a name has always felt so dumb to me. That’s probably at least partly due to the fact that every single one was “nation” for a while.

His planned number one had a late summer/early fall injury pop up. This isn’t a question of GM intelligence. Sure, question that choice of goalie, but the current situation really has very little to do with that. -
Hell, do we know if anyone else out in a claim? We’re very early in the priority order.
-
Regardless of where the bar is, if he’s better than that, the team has just improved within the last 24 hours. I really hope that no one chimes in to say that he was claimed more than 24 hours ago.
-
If they’re playing in junior, they don’t cost against the 50 contracts. Wasn’t there the suggestion at some point that Ratzlaff could go back as an overager? I have no idea if that’s possible or in the cards at all. I’ll still stick with my original thought on Georgiev. Let’s see if he reports now.
-
I’m not looking forward to his first game against Ryan O’Reilly.
-
It’s easier to write off one of 12 forward slots than it is 1 of 6 on D. Were they down any D back when all of that happened? Im not crazy about carrying the guy, but I could see him shuttling back and forth a lot. Is he Rempe insurance for game 1 and then he’s down already?
-
So if they mutually agree to part ways and then the contract doesn’t get paid, it winds up essentially as a PTO. I don’t know, I get NHL or nothing vibes from this one and now that they’re not interested, he’ll leave.
-
There’s also the possibility that Ellis winds up as the better option between him and Lyon. If that happens, you cross that. Ridge when you get there.
-
I think this claim gives us a timeline on UPL. He’s out long enough for St Louis’ waiver rights to expire (was it 30?days that taro mentioned) and then we go from there. I fully expect the Sabres and Georgiev to part ways.
-
And I wonder how much of that is under the table from the teams.
-
You give Ellis a day or two to get settled and then that more than likely happens with Georgiev.
-
6 defensemen and 3 goalies. Take a wild guess where the space is made for the 7th defenseman.
-
That was the Botterill staff at that point.
-
McDavid will get all the national stuff though, especially since he’s a Canadian. I wonder how much money the porn stache has cost Matthews.
-
I’d love to know how much the best player on the face of the earth makes in endorsements. If there’s anyone who can afford to leave money in the table, it’s that guy. The only real shocker there is that he just signed on to be the second highest paid player on that team.
-
I’m not sure why there is any concern or even any thought going into Georgiev. He’s not sticking with this team and no one is going to claim him.
