  1. These CBA-related rules? Yeah, they can’t just change them on the fly. The only thing you mention that was is the 2006 stuff. I don’t specifically remember what you’re saying, maybe that was the case, but I thought it was an issue where Darcy thought they’d handle it that way but was wrong. But if they’ve been told it will be in place, I’m good then. When it comes to how people are paid, it needs to be set in stone already at this point.
  2. I feel like they’d have to know by now if they were going to do the playoff thing and we would have heard it. You can’t change an accounting thing mid-season. If a team makes a move thinking it will be counted one way, changing that on them suddenly doesn’t go well. Which ones have they actually said are in place now? I can’t remember and the only things I see with a lazy google search are non-CBA rule changes.
  3. And he’s been waived before.
  4. I did hear some of the guys on the NHL station in XM last week, ones who I would say are particularly harsh on the Sabres, picking Thompson as one of 4-5 players who will hit 50 goals this year. It caught my attention because one was saying Matthews won’t get there because he’ll get hurt. I would expect the same to be said of Thompson. Let’s face it, he typically misses a decent stretch of games, or hits a slow patch because he’s fighting through something.
  5. Does Cameron Rowe have an AHL contract? I had to look him up, but it does seem a bit odd to have Levi and then 3 first year pros in net. They'll get one of the vets eventually (Georgiev). Even still, that's a lot of inexperience to start out in the ECHL. I did wonder a bit if Georgiev would be let out of his contract if he didn't stick in the NHL, but that can't happen at this point.
  6. He’s still waiver exempt, isn’t he? Teams play so many games at this time of the year with the timing of these moves.
  7. It’s not a good contract but $4.3 million is not a back breaker, especially with where the cap is supposed to go. I even said it when they signed it, if it went wrong, that one was never going to cripple them.
  8. It’s looking like Baltimore is officially not competing with the Bills for the 1 seed anymore.
  9. Cook is going to regret signing that contract.
  10. That Bishop interception is going to be all over the highlight reels.
  11. Power was claimed to be a physical presence?
  12. I think that’s the one true wild card for them. Goalie is the one position that would cut them off at the knees.
  13. Ha, I didn’t realize it went that late. It’s too bad they didn’t tie.
  14. I think they have too much talent to fall that far. They weather the storm until Tkachuk is back around Christmas and they continue to tread water.
  15. I’m not accusing them of anything. He’ll be back though, these things always find a way of working out.
  16. It reminds me of a few years ago where 4 or 5 weeks into the season the Bills had more wins in the Meadowlands than those two teams combined. They played back to back weeks there to open the season. Oh wait, they have more wins in that stadium this year so far too.
  17. Do you know how much of that is injuries vs. being a 6th/7th defenseman? I can’t picture him being higher than that in a depth chart… but then again, there’s 2024-25.
  18. They don’t even try to hide it. Yeah, he’s legitimately hurt, but that timeline is so incredibly convenient.
  19. And is only 22
  20. You mean the bulletin board at the local post office?
  21. I don’t care until he’s injured in the regular season. So give it a month or so.
  22. Except for that pesky little issue where it would require an injury to a star player. Even if they’re coming back, I don’t want to see my team in that spot.
  23. I’m not sure what color it was, but I did see that. On the zoomed out shots though, all I saw was white.
  24. Oh look, another one that will heal right after game 82.
  25. That’s close to 100 years of hockey that the Sabres and amerks have lost in the last couple years. We’ll never see anything like that again.
