I miss that live action cartoon era.

I'm still amazed that they let people with loaded carts, $200+ worth of groceries go through those self check. There is absolutely no way to guarantee they scanned every single item. And then to the original point, there's me directly behind them with the 20 ounce bottle of coke and a thing of toothpaste.

Is Miller back at the start of the season? If not, it seems like you can let the performance of these other guys and the injury bug answer the question of who might get the boot.

The organizational depth thing though is still such a fluid process that can change quickly. If the late round defenseman from one year pans out while the mid round forward doesn’t, the depth between the two positions can quickly flip. And then there’s the fact that you have to dress twice as many forwards as defensemen. If you’re going in targeting D, your depth chart can get out of whack quickly. But then again, when a team drafts 85 players a year like the Sabres have the last couple years, there’s definitely going to be a lot of prospects at each position.

Drafting for need is such a strange concept when you’re dealing with kids who are 5-6 years away. Maybe you can fill a more short term need in the 1st and maybe 2nd round, but beyond that point, I don’t believe that drafting for need exists.

Earlier today I was crossing the street a block from my house. A car was stopped waiting to turn left so I started to cross the street. The guy the. Very quickly rushed a turn right in front of me. I stared at the car and he slammed on his break then got out screaming obscenities at me, “what’s your f’n problem”.
