  1. Yes, you said fans want to hope after providing 10 reasons they shouldn't have any. Clearly you were taking the tenor of @dudacek's original post to heart.
  2. Leinonen was definitely in for the 2nd half of the game. Didn't pay attention to who was in during the 1st half of the game. It might've been him getting the full game but not positive of that.
  3. 2-4 Lecempte. Double boo.
  4. 2-3 12:55 left to play in the 3rd. Boo.
  5. 2-2 51 for the Sabres. Kucharcik
  6. They were playing a lot better before you got here. 😉 1-1 Boo.
  7. Meant that link on the Sabres home page wasn't there until 6:55. The link you'd clicked was what was there prior to that.
  8. Yes. Go to www.nhl.com/sabres and you can get to the live feed from there. That link wasn't available until 6:55PM.
  9. Mrtka. Sweet. Nice keep in by 37 to start it.
  10. You do know that it's not overly difficult to adjust the way a light switch is mounted, right? 😉 But, it probably is best to wait until wifey's B-Day to make that adjustment. Lets one get off with a cheaper "big" gift for that one. 😉
  11. Dad must be an Elton John fan. Couldn't understand at first why Devon Levi was at the carnival with him. Oh, his brother shall be Levi. That makes SOOOOO much more sense than why Devon had taken a trip to Moose Jaw randomly in the summer.
  12. Presuming his liver functions properly, yes, that would be a reasonable interpretation of the situation. If the medication he's on, or other potential health issues, kept his liver from processing alcohol correctly then he might've had a 6 pack of a double IPA the night before and not realized he was still quite drunk the next day after a full night's sleep. Not excusing his lack of realization of his situation nor stating that your version of the situation isn't in fact the correct one. And understand why the Sabres would place him on administrative leave immediately for this event happening. But will wait to join the tar and feather brigade until after the full facts are known. And thank God that it appears nobody in either car was injured. Bumpers can be replaced; lives, not so much.
  13. Probably the biggest source of hopium IMHO is the heavily front loaded schedule of home games combined with Ruff and 80% of the team knowing what to expect from each other AND other teams not being able to take them as seriously in October as they're taking everybody else in October sets them up for a great opportunity to get out of the gate quickly. And with the team youth, a quick start can translate into these guys not just believing in themselves but having seen results that back that faith, so it can become an amplifier for the good vibes / success. And, right about the time they start losing that juice that comes from a quick start and feeling the fatigue of having been playing their relative version of playoff (or at minimum full on in the groove regular season) hockey for 4 months when the rest of the league has only been doing it for 1-2 months, they get nearly a full month break to regroup with only 2 (most likely) - 4 of them not having that full break to recharge and get back to being ready to drive the final 2+ month home stretch. They made the mistake of believing they were there heading into the season 2 years ago and didn't take October seriously like they had the 2 previous Granato years and it bit them in the bippy and then last year, though they'd overcome the 0-3 start that the European trip saddled them with, they never built up a cushion to be able to ride out a few game bad stretch while staying in a playoff spot and Dahlin's getting injured flat out broke them. Truly doubt they won't be ready to fly when the bullets start up for real. IF October blows up on them, expectiing it'll be none of the 4 headed goalie monster (or will it even be a 5 headed monster by the time that month is done?) was able to get the job done (which on an NHL squad would cause a significant management shakeup, but we cheer for the Sabres so hopefully we don't have to find out whether ownership has the resolve to belatedly finally make that move if necessary) rather than the skaters in front of them playing tentatively because they once again had no idea how to play the way Ruff asked them to out of the gate. But the schedule maker definitely has given them an opportunity to build up a bit of momentum out of the gate. And there is room for hope with that.
  14. Yeah, still not fully getting this move. Guess Adams is thinking what better way to clear up 3 ???'s at G than by adding a 4th?
  15. If true, yikes!
  16. Yep. He did say that hitting never became a part of his game because every time he touched an opponent he got called for it. IIRC he also at that time said he knows he needs to add at least some of that to his game. If he truly does feel stronger, MAYBE he'll bring it a little. He did start shooting more as last season went on, so he at a minimum gained confidence in that aspect of his own strength. (He knew he had a muffin for a shot when he came into the league which is why he so rarely tried shooting from the point as a rookie.)
  17. Makes the most sense at this point. And guess the signing makes sense to a degree from a well, having another cheap lottery ticket never hurts point of view. But, not sure that a day old cheap lottery ticket purchase makes any sense. Yes, it only has 1 less chance of winning than that "fresh" lottery ticket has, but that 1 additional chance makes a huge difference in the value of each.
  18. He's the guy who's last sighting in an Avs uni gave the Sabres a 4-1 lead in the Dahlin breaks to start the 3rd, there goes the season game. He was pretty much on the next plane to SJ after that little debacle.
  19. Well, we DID want Adams to address GT. Not sure which multiverse we have to be in for THIS move to meet THAT definition. And, what are the odds of OUR luck placing us in that 1 in every 14 million or so variants that this does meet that definition?
  20. Umm, are they really rolling the dice on him regaining his form from several years ago? Don't understand this one at all.
  21. Sorry, couldn't find the Morning Circus Band's Fa-La-La-La-LaFontaine on line.
  22. According to the Rochester D&C, the stat that @Demoted quoted was SINCE 2017. Since then, teams down by 15+ with 5 or less minutes left were 0-717. And, according to the D&C, so take it for what it's worth, the Bills are the 1st team to ever win when trailing by 15+ with only 4 minutes to go. EDIT: But believe the D&C isn't quite correct, believe the Bills are the only 1 (of 4 or 5) to win in regulation after being down by that much with that little time left to go.
  23. Those teams down by 15 with some random amount of time left were 3 & a couple thousand since IIRC 2000. They're now 4 & a couple thousand and this is the only one of those that ended in regulation. The stat he was trying to quote seems to be this (have no idea who the tweeter is, so take the stat for what it's worth). Will try to find the ESPN stat about being down by that much with so little time left. And the Ravens are now either 11-1 or 10-1 including playoffs when Henry rushes for at least 100 yards. He had 1 playoff game for them with over 100 yards rushing, so believe it is 11-1, but might've given them 1 extra win.
