  1. Past hour
  2. Watched the game with all my Leafs buddies tonight..OH BOY 6 straight playoff losses at home. 8 years in the playoffs with this group, one series win. Leafs have to be blown up. Dubas is a complete fraud. The worst constructed team I have seen. All the money dumped into high end forwards with no D or goalie focus. Treleving has a giant mess to clean up. I would imagine both Shanahan and Keefe get canned. The media and fans are out for blood here.
  3. Doesn't matter, Benedict Arnold was a good general but he was also a traitor. That being said the true star tonight is Thompson standing on his head
  4. Personally, I’d take a stretch of multiple enjoyable regular seasons leading to playoff berths ultimately ending in disappointment than I would multiple terrible regular seasons to the tune of the worst run of all time in professional sports followed by coming in even lower by expectations than the Leafs because we can’t finish higher than 22nd any single season but that’s just me He’s so damn good
  5. Today
  6. The thing for me, and it has been for a while, is I am afraid we might become the Leafs and we will be forced to endure a decade of playoff failure even if we do get regular season good. I am hoping Ruff will have a say in fashioning this roster into a team that can win in the playoffs, not just get there. Leafs struggle mightily when there is less open ice. Bruins taking away time and space and the usual Leafs struggle. It was hilarious to watch how many times the frustrated Leafs were looking to refs, gesturing and begging for non existent penalties because they weren't getting their way or weren't able to do what they wanted. Even the HNIC guys called them out on it and said "just play". We don't want to be them.
  7. Best not to drink that Oleato crap from Starbucks then.
  8. Its about expectations. 2 ways to have a 'good' season as a fan: 1.) you win the cup. 2.) you exceed expectations. In Buffalo, its possible to do the 2nd one without doing the first one. Some/many people will enjoy that type of a season. In Toronto right now, expectations ARE to win a cup, and they have realistically been that for a few years. EVERY season that you don't win the cup is basically a 100% failure and not enjoyable. And they haven't really been close to that.
  9. You get a guy who you known can play 14 minutes of NHL + hockey a night and you tell Krebs there’s your target; be better than him and those minutes are yours. If I squint hard I can see someone who only watched Byram play in Buffalo say that. Im reminded of last year and what everyone was saying about Greenway. Im not going to say we bought low because we paid a pretty big price. But I will say you weren’t getting him at that price any time before this year. He’s shown he can be better and I expect he will be.
  10. Yeah man, we got some characters for sure this time. I love DeWayne Carter. I didn't know him from Adam before yesterday but watching a whole bunch of video about him, especially the 8 minute one put out by Duke, this cat is special, all heart and soul.
  11. Was just about to post this. Maybe we can trade for one of their 1st liners this year
  12. I’d rather be a Sabre fan than a Leaf fan right now. With the Sabres, I know what we’ve got. It’s pretty mid. With the Leafs, you go through this annual torture of thinking you have a team that can compete for the Cup, but … no, you don’t.
  13. Sure looked like there were a lot of floating Leaf players in the 3rd as opposed to Bruins going hard in the paint.
  14. Playoff hockey and the Leafs are looking at the refs after every battle. The Bruins are playing on the edge and are in their heads. Like their fans they are blaming the officials instead of looking internally at a lack of grit.
  15. Leafs are toast. Hey, we're not the Leafs!
  16. The refs are really helping out the Loafs in this game.
  17. Goddam is it me or is Boston defense locking down (knock on wood)?
  18. It's partly to boost his trade value. He won't be serving anyone by sitting in Rochester. He would need to be traded to contribute if he proves he isn't NHL caliber this year. Byram was a crucial piece in the Avs cup run. That alone makes him a high caliber player.
  19. He's certainly better than RJ and Joker. IMO, he's different than Clifton and Samuelsson - so it's not a better argument for me.. Clifton has skills that Ruff will use. Samuelsson has to be available or he's not better than anyone that's playing.
