Comparing the leafs to a bully... đ They might be even further from bully status than the sabres
-
Sadly we are in full agreement on this. GMHD has no idea how to improve this team. His whole plan is to hope that the kids mature on their own into winners and he can supplement on the fringes.

I think most people, ârichâ or otherwise, avoid paying taxes to the extent they are lawfully able. And our tax code and laws, as they exist in present form, are badly broken. -

Britany and Normandy were amazing. Went to the D day invasion site at Omaha Beach, what a gross misstep that day was. St. Malo was a cool stop and the crepes and salted butter caramels in northern France were yummmmm Lithuania was awesome, almost anywhere in the county was enjoyable. Latvia was a mixed bag, Riga was Meh to me, too much of a bigger city feel and kind of trashy. Went to Sigulda and did a country sauna the first night where this Latvian sauna master lady beat the $hit out of us with birch whisks butt naked and it was a whole traditional thing; then went out and jumped into the ice cold pond, some tea and fruit then a relaxing break on a haystack under the stars covered in wool blankets, then rinse and repeat. Kuldiga was an awesome small town and Jurmala was a nice beach town only 30 min from Riga. Then we got stuck in Paris for a day as that's the way the flights worked out. They're prepping for the Olympics and it's even crappier than usual, holy hell is that city just terrible. Then someone at the airport stole my bag of Baltic chocolates that I was collecting through the whole trip, as if I needed to hate Paris any more. Currently 2.5 hours away from landing in Toronto, going to hit the all you can eat Japanese/Korean BBQ in Toronto before driving home. Can't wait to plan the next trip!

Probably if they put it into some kind of trust where it was held in trust for some number of years, with small portions doled out to the kids per year? (I am certainly not a tax lawyer.) -

Rich people avoiding taxes. Shocker. My tax burden is almost 20% and that doesn't include sales tax and property tax and more. -

It's way over a million dollars. It's currently $13.61 million under an act that expires next year; if not extended it will revert back to "only" $5.6 million. The $13.61 million figure, incidentally, is keyed to inflation, which may well be yet another factor why corporations are pushing up prices: Not only are they pocketing more, but their kids get to keep more when they die. -
While I'm never sad to see the Leafs eliminated, I was actually hoping they'd pull this one off, because I would have enjoyed the Bruins blowing a 3-1 series lead in the first round in consecutive seasons even more. It would have been the first time any team has lost with a 3-1 lead in consecutive seasons, let alone consecutive first rounds.

It is like any sport. If you have got the body and tools then you will get multiple chances because there will be teams that think they can fix you in their system with their coaching.

A. The bold is a motherhood statement that most on here would agree with. B. That the Sabres are the worst franchise in the NHL over the past decade is a fact. I donât agree with the implication that B means A isnât happening. This is the 6th playoff series Rochester has played in over the past 25 months. Mersch/Jobst/Murray Biro/Rousek/Weissbach Cecconi/Davies/Prow are AHL veterans âhelping the kids through it.â Rochester has graduated Krebs, Quinn, Peterka, Samuelsson, and Luukkonen during this process. Johnson and Levi will almost certainly join them. Not trying to change your mind, just sharing a different view. I already know the response to this will be some version of âwell the Sabres missed the playoffs againâ because thatâs all the really matters.

Who is better: UPL who will be better: I think Levi Do I care: No, if they are both good then the Sabres are in great shape
-
LOL I watched the series with all my Leafs fan buddies. I feel a bit of their painđ

I think that if UPL's "last half of the season" (uh-oh, now Tage flashbacks) is who UPL is for the foreseeable future, we will be lucky if Levi reaches that level. I think he can. I am a big fan of the idea of Levi starting for Rochester, and getting called up for games whenever UPL needs a night off.
