  1. Past hour
  2. At that point you're hanging out on Death's doorstep anyways, might as well knock every once and awhile for funsies.
  3. One thing can certainly be said about the Avs vs. the Sabres GM. Last season, the Avs started horribly because of a devastating rash of injuries and some of the worst goaltending possible. Once the injuries subsided, and the goaltending was still garbage, they salvaged their season before it got out of hand. Within a two-week stretch, the Avs had moved both Annunen .872 sv% and Georgiev .874 sv% out and brought in the Blackwood-Wedgewood tandem, who would have save percentages with the Avs of .913 and .917, respectively. Adams has been dinking around with goaltenders for 5 years.
  4. Yes. I think there are players undervalued by their current teams who would sign for a chance. Noah Dobson for example might not get the contract offer he wants from his current team.
  5. An Eeyore, for sure. In the A.A. Milne dual paradigm, Adams as GM is probably an Eeyore/Piglet. Possibly an Eeyore/Owl. Not great combinations for an NHL GM. I used to identify as a Tigger/Owl. But I was younger then. I'm not so sure that fits anymore. I'm probably more an Owl/Rabbit now. (Sigh.)
  6. Well, he did mention Penthouse Forum, so maybe he’s of the age where he’d be into that.
  7. My God, just retire man. Enjoy your last years, take up fishing or pottery or spelunking.
  8. You can't build a winning culture when you're Eeyore.
  9. Well, I would think that Kevy has to own it now. He is responsible for the largest portion of it.
  10. And he hasn’t since the cap. That’s all I’m sayin. I don’t want him as a part of the Sabres.
  11. I bet Lou is the guy. It makes too much sense and he's unlikely to get a GM offer. If Lou was so good adapting to the cap wouldn't his record reflect that?
  12. Every winning coach or GM has great players. Every winning coach or GM adapts to current league rules, salary cap constraints, etc.
  13. I think Pegula’s personal involvement with the Sabres is a problem, and it was the EEE structure that stagnated the team, and the Bills did not have that nor would Beane be a party to it. Adams has not improved the team and he shows no signs of being capable to build a winning culture.
  14. Trump fired the Librarian of Congress in order to appoint a new one who could then put in a place a sycophant at the copyright office. It's all about literally creating a Maga deep state that serves only the billionaire oligarchs like Elon Musk.
  15. He also had the one of the top goalies ever, during the no cap era. I’m sure that helped. The last year they won, his team had a salary that was $20 MM more than the Sabres, which back then was about a third more. (Iirc, the Sabres total salary was around $35MM and the Devils was around $55MM.)
  16. Tim Rigas - HR Director of Integrity and Ethics
  17. Same reason we got rid of Montour, Scandella, and soon to be Byram. KA thinks Samuelsson is better.
  18. Steinbrenner’s kid, Hal, just recently changed the teams facial hair rule.
  19. Power’s +8 is a bit nullified by his D+4 season 79, 7/33/40, -13
  20. Today
  21. Capwages has updated, too. You can now see which teams have the draft capital required for the 2026 picks and beyond: https://capwages.com/tools/offer-sheet Side note: the Mammoth logo is very muddled when viewed as a small icon. It's too busy for its height.
  22. But, but you can sit Bryson out and he doesn't complain or get an attitude. The players like him.
  23. Do they still have the no facial rules? The era of dictating grooming standards to a 60s level is long past. How you play and how you conduct yourself are the more important issues. The hair issue on top and on your face are irrelevant and outmoded. Lou L was terrific hockey manager for his era. It's long past.
  24. What's even more obvious and worrisome is that credible candidates have little interest in joining a Pegula owned team. It's widely known that the owner's overhanging presence has made this a pariah franchise to be avoided. Lou L has had an impressive career as a hockey executive. His era is over with. The most impactful change that has to be made is how the owner presides over the franchise. Until there is a change there, this franchise will be unappealing to qualified people who can put this flailing franchise on the right road.
