  1. Past hour
  2. There is now talk of the cap doubling in the next five to eight years. Players, especially top tier players, are starting to see the benefit of shorter term deals. I was told that an eight year deal is basically done but Tuch’s agents would like a shorter deal. My guess is that Tuch blinks before the start of the season.
  3. IF Tuch doesn't sign a new contract with the Sabres, we've got WAY bigger problems than there being soft demand for tickets. Until the puck drops against the Rags without him having a new extension in place, will chalk talk of him not signing up to our fears getting the better of us, but at this point can't really blame those that do allow that to happen because there's legitimate cause for us letting our fears get the better of us. (Namely spending the entire off-season bringing as much of a 79 point operation back intact as was possible.)
  4. I disagree. He's made it clear he thinks Alex wants to be here. First of all, will Alex confirm? Secondly, I think this effectively removes the crutch of "not our fault, player didn't want to be here". If Tuch doesn't sign, either Adams got played, or it's because the Sabres wouldn't pay him.
  5. So Adam Mair doesn't own the responsibility for choosing a career path that would see him exposed to higher than normal head contacts and injuries? And, they hired him as Director of Player Development. So it's not like they cut ties. He had a job. Do I blame my employer for hiring me to a position that requires me to sit on my butt for prolonged periods of time thus increasing the chances of health issues related to higher than average sedentary positioning?
  6. This is going to be such a fun and exciting season.
  7. Adams makes a lot of sound with his mouth but none of it means anything.
  8. That's about the most generic statement one could write. Not even ChatGPT could be that generic.
  9. Tuch is day to day waiting on a contract extension offer... or a trade. 🙂 He has a thing.. he is tired of losing.
  10. Adams: 'We've made it clear we want him here, he's made it clear he wants to be here' He says they are aligned, it's just a matter of the numbers. Thoughts?
  11. The problem is, he's not actually silent. His hands are all over this team given hockey is his main passion. Football on the other hand was never his main sport. For that reason, he's happy to let the experts run the team.
  12. I really hope that Thompson and Norris aren't on the same line from day one of camp. If it ends up that way fine, but try some different combinations first.
  13. So UPL injured.. Greenway injured... Tuch has something, And this is on day one of camp. What's the over and under on number of days before Norris or Dahlin comes up with something also? It's frustrating.
  14. Greenway on the ice today according to Fairburn.
  15. That Greenway extension is looking to be the worst signing of the past 12 months at least.
  16. Today
  17. Lindy very clear that Benson needs to produce more if he wants to be in the top 6. Also sounds like he will look hard at Norris with Tage but he did like what Kulich did there. Tage as a winger is definitely the starting point, with Tuch and Tage on different lines.
  18. I think my worst nightmare is that the team starts 10-4 and Pegula hands Adams and company 3 year extensions and then everything regresses to the norm.🤢
  19. I think, to me at least, it's clear this is a "we'll see" year. They're gonna run all this crap back and if it works cool, if not they'll can everyone and start over under Kekalainen.
  20. Gonna be hard to lean on a guy who spends 40% of the season injured
  21. Lindy made it absolutely crystal-clear that Norris is going to be leaned on as a 1C. Also called him the missing piece to a PP where they plan to put a 5-man unit together, keep it together and lean on it hard
  22. Huh. How are they going to do the rotation, then? Tuch or Thompson has to give up an A for Samuelsson to have his A in home games? That's as silly as it was last year.
  23. Status quo nonsense. This team refuses to face the facts and just wants to add 3 guys and run it back.
  24. Is this another 'Terry is cheap' move? Saving themselves from having to pay a seamstress to remove the stitching holding Samuelsson's A on his sweater. (Realize it isn't, but it might as well be.)
  25. That, and teams had figured out pretty quickly to clog things up, take away Tua's first read, and he's screwed.
