  1. Past hour
  2. I missed the game. Watched the replay. Best 60 minutes I’ve seen the Sabres play this season, start to finish. No let up in the final period. Took the Oilers out of any chance of coming back. Ellis was supported by great D and made big saves when challenged. Easy to see the team has confidence in him. He earned the next start. Let’s see if he can handle it. Östlund, Rosen, and Kozak bring great energy to the team. Will hate to see any one of them sent down, but expect it. The future is brighter after their visit.
  3. At 4.75, I don't see it, unless we eat approx. half.
  4. KA gives chances out like Halloween candy.
  5. For myself, I have not come to a conclusion on Quinn. No hate, but no Benson-esque adoration. I saw him finish a check nicely tonight. He plays well with the skilled kids. Unlike Tommy Dangles, he shoots when he should shoot, passes when he should pass. He's not an overrated disaster like Power. I'm still willing to give him a chance to put it all together.
  6. Correct call Coach! Good game by boys in Blue. Still. Fire. Kevyn. He doesn’t deserve this success, he has been an unbelievable failure as GM (in name only). TP needs an intervention. Dude, you came in w ‘CUP!’ You obviously made it in oil & gas. Hire talent to bring you the cup! Sabres fans will love (like NHL Commish) you after all this. Put KA in charge as Palm tree& taxes CZAR. Trade him w UPL for future considerations. Whatever.
  7. Also interesting that comparing GAA, he is just behind our friend Eric Comrie, and he's also played virtually the same amount of minutes. Rank Name Team GP W L SA Sv GA Sv% GAA TOI 30 Eric Comrie WPG 4 3 1 119 108 11 .908 2.75 239:56 31 Colten Ellis BUF 4 3 1 128 117 11 .914 2.76 238:46
  8. Today
  9. I don’t understand the Jack Quinn hate, truly Last year was a disaster, the year before that was promising, and this year is building on that season from 2 years ago. He’s fast and skilled, he’s done more than enough to not be the first suggested guy to be taken out of the lineup.
  10. Interesting: He's played almost exactly the same amount of time as UPL. Compare their stats:
  11. He's 3-1 in his short career, with a .914 Sv%. Sounds good, but he also has a 2.76 GAA which tells me that the Sabres are still giving up too many shots, but are mostly able to overcome that with him in net (more confident with him, leading to more goals?) His one loss against Utah was a game that the Sabres totally played like doo-doo.
  12. Are Blues pi$$ed enough that we should expect an offer sheet?
  13. Intelligent too. Makes smart hockey plays, especially when handling the puck. UPL typically rims it around the boards to the opposing team while Ellis actually passes it to a teammate more often than not.
  14. Okay @Spoonman, let's get you back to bed.
  15. Didn't really surprise me that they won this one. They have a habit of winning these type of games. I really don't think it means anything but you never know, they might get on a roll. Kozak very impressive checking McJesus. That's the biggest encouraging takeaway I have from this one. If he can become a solid 2 way checker and not just a 4th liner we might just have filled a big hole. Ellis was also very solid. It's way past time for KA to make the move and ditch UPL one way or another. It should be Ellis and Lyon until it's Ellis and Levi and that's it. Get it done you piece of crap moron GM. While he's at it he can ditch Greenway as well. Absolute rubbish hockey player. Power still giving the puck away too much but when you win it doesn't matter.
  16. Good evening Teammates, I missed the game. It was date night with the Mrs. Happy wife, happy life. No truer words have ever been said. Happy to see this final score. I’ll watch it on demand. Go Sabres!
  17. He certainly played like a top goaltender...at least for tonight.
  18. There is a rumor that TP continues to blame the NHL for Botterill and therefore is reluctant (or refuses more accurately) to listen to them on other personnel decisions. On the other hand, JW mentioned events at KBC are starting to offset some of the Sabres loss of revenue. Plus Highmark Stadium and its associated revenue will start flowing in the Fall of 2026 and maybe the Sabres purse strings are loosened. A consistently full building and playoff dates will help that. Moving on from the existing regime would be a help with ticket sales and considering there is hardly anyone in the organization from coaching staff or hockey ops who is still under contract after this year, Therefore changes probably come. Hopium is a hell of a drug
  19. They are all about offense. Their defense is not very good. If you stymie their offense by hitting McJesus and his buddies at every opportunity, you can shut down that offense. And after taking a pounding all game, they Eulers' star didn't have anything left in the tank at the end. Realistically, they're what the Sabres were when Eichel carried the team. They haven't managed to build a complete team behind him.
  20. And he’s only the second best Ellis in the organization 😝😁
  21. chuckle
  22. Reminded me of the Florida game from earlier this year; a full 60min effort where we all but dominated a team. Ellis is #1G for now until teams get a book on him.
  23. Man the oil looks aweful don’t they?
