  1. Past hour
  2. And I read the other day you don’t get anywhere without heart
  3. Matt Grzelcyk was available all summer.
  4. The way I see it, Bryson's role is to fill out the fourth-pair in practice, get spot duty on the 3rd pair in case of short-term injury or poor play, and act as a safety valve if Jones and Johnson suck, all with a smile on his face. I'm sick of him too, but he's as qualified as anyone for the role.
  5. They can't even be bothered to strip Samuelsson of his A
  6. There is a certain irony in the language you use here in bold to decry acts of violence. Considering a democratic lawmaker in Minnesota named Melissa Hortman was assassinated; Trump and Republicans have repeatedly used this exact same language for years now.
  7. Hope they play him with Timmins next game to put some preasure on Samuelsson.
  8. What player did they rush who was then bad? Grogirenko?
  9. If they actually put Helenius on the roster and rush him, they need to move this team out of Buffalo. If they have not learned their lessons from the previous 100 mistakes of rushing players, I really do give up.
  10. Exactly. He also doesn't seem to need to play a few games after missing long stretches to "get his game back." Adams and Ruff were very clear about that being why he was brought back. And, like everybody else, would much rather they have a guy that isn't as limited as Bryson in that 8 role. UNLESS (well actually even if, to be technical, but should this be the case it isn't as galling) the plan is to have him be the rostered 8 but in reality the 9 behind either Johnson or Novikov who will actually be playing in Ra-cha-cha until somebody in addition to Samuelsson breaks. Don't fully get why people say they don't understand why Bryson is on the roster when Adams has been very clear as to why. FULLY understand why they don't agree with it. And as already said, would rather they have a better player slotted into the 8 because the 8 realistically will play ~20 games.
  11. Everyone will save the Sabres, by playing better defense and not turning the puck over.
  12. Wadr, Jackson wasn't excellent Sunday night. He was Romo. Great stats, but had a critical fumble on 4th down in the red zone and got outscored 17-7 in the 4th while taking about 4 sacks in the 4th (and 7 total). The only reason they even got the 7 points in the 4th is the Lions inexplicably couldn't tackle on 3rd and a million on a little dump off. It'll be interesting to see how their game vs the Chefs plays out this weekend. The cool thing is one of them will, barring a very unlikely tie, be 1-3 at the end of the game. The scary thing is one of them will be 2-2 and thinking they've righted their ship moving forward.
  13. I read something the other day "you'll get further in your profession by being liked over being competent"
  14. Terry loves the boy. The Peter Principle is real. I have seen this, and much worse, and it goes on in very high places.
  15. Disappointed Novikov isn't being used more.
  16. Will UPL see some playing time in the next 3 games? If Lyon and Georgiev keep playing well I wonder if Uppie goes on IR to stash him and buy some time for decisions?
  17. This was the year to move on from Bryson, yet they rushed to re-sign him. Because Adams said he is a great teammate that wants to be here. He doesn't complain when he is scratched, even for long periods. I want guys that hate sitting out.
  18. Fun roster. Power-Kesselring get playing time for familiarity. Beyond that, it's a cornucopia of bottom 6 and potential Rochester call-ups -- minus Kozak who already played back-to-back and many NHL games last year. Ruff knows what he has in Kozak. Detroit's "home" roster had better obliterate this team. If the Sabres hold the Wings to fewer than 24 shots, 1 goal or less, and win it going away with an empty-netter to make it 4-1 with 1:30 remaining... it's playoffs!
  19. UPL hasn’t even started any camp activities so he won’t be ready for start of season. It will be Georgiev-Lyon to start and they will build UPL back up. I definitely see a situation where they keep 3 goalies on the roster until they figure out where everything stands. Tough break for UPL as he really needed to come in with a strong camp and rebound from last season. Real opportunity for Georgiev or Lyon to take the reins early if they can find their games.
  20. Bryson as an 8 (or better yet, waived, cleared to Rochester and still the #8) is OK if you have a solid top 6 and he only needs to fill in for limited minutes in 15 games. He's got wheels and NHL experience. It was the early extension that didn't make sense. At the time, they had JBD and Ryan Johnson. Either of them could be the 7 (who will play 40 games) if you go out and get a top-4 D-man for Power like they needed to do. JBD, of course, had played with Power and looked alright down the stretch, but the shopping list still needed the experienced defensive/crease-clearing RHD type for Power.
