  1. Yesterday
  2. The Mets owner did just a couple weeks ago
  3. Charlie Jacobs did last year. The owner of the Bruins, ironically a guy from Buffalo, sent a letter to the Bruins fans. https://www.facebook.com/NHLBruins/posts/a-message-from-nhlbruins-ceo-charlie-jacobs/1147449590729769/ Not sure this is an apology exactly, but it was a sincere effort to let their fans know that missing the playoffs one time in over 20 years was unsatisfactory. In addition, after the Bruins were booed at a home game the coach said their fans were right to boo and the team deserved it. Their Captain, Marchand, said the same thing. Quite the contrast from the Sabres players, coach Granato, and Captain Okposo, when this happened in Buffalo. Culture is not a throw away word in Boston.
  4. No issues with AOL 2.0 here.
  5. Stu Boyar!
  6. I guess โ€œI canโ€™t see Adams being brought backโ€ read to me as more of a prediction than an opinion of what you would do
  7. Logically, there is no reason to bring him back. BUT there was logically no reason to bring him back this season, and it still happened. Logically, there was no way Granato's entire staff should've been employed after he was out of a job. BUT none of them got canned. Dropped the word "logically" from that 1st sentence. Thought it was implied. Guess not. (Though it was unwritten, it seems you didn't read it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
  8. The White Sox owner after the 2024 baseball season.
  9. Love Ed Kilgore's 'hair"!
  10. Iโ€™m talking about making the playoffs. The goal needs to be playoffs year 1
  11. Has any North American sports team owner or exec ever apologized for having a bad team? I think you are looking for answers where there ainโ€™t none.
  12. We don't have much skilled forwards. That will take years to rectify. We do have a decent defense but also subpar goaltending.
  13. To be TRUE contenders without having locked in goaltending would take 3-4 years from here. Lock in GTing and you can accelerate that timeline. But to just get back to relevance. It could actually happen THIS season, if somebody that knew what they were doing was in charge. (Not likely, but it's possible.) And they definitely should be able to be relevant next season in an absolute worst case. This roster ISN'T bad. But, it isn't coached well at all. Get a legit GM and get a legit coaching staff and go from there.
  14. I don't care what his face looks like, he's beat the hell out of McDermott and KC several times without a good QB. Maye is legit and NE has competent coaching. The division is not a freebee anymore.
  15. The Sabres don't have a Huberdeau to go get a Tkachuk. Maybe Cozens could have fetched more if they'd have waited until the draft/offseason. And they definitely don't have a Barkov or Bobrovsky in-house already.
  16. That's our hope. He won't fire his super-yes-man and friend. But maybe he will just not re-sign him. Meanwhile, there's no plan beyond "wait for Power to reach age 25" so that he becomes good defensively with a chEEEap coaching staff, and everyone will be happy to be here.
  17. It took Zito 3 years to turn the Panthers into contenders, 4 to win a cup. And that's rare. And he walked into a slightly better situation having some significant core pieces already than whoever has to take over this mess. It would take a miracle to turn this around into contenders in anything less.
  18. Can't see Adams being brought back, but prior to the start of last season couldn't see any way a year as bad as last year would have him back this year. Sooo ... And couldn't see a way that when Granato got canned, he'd be the only one losing a job with only Ellis getting a demotion out of the entire rest of the coaching staff. Sooooo ... Until Adams is gone, am not expecting it. Will hope for it, but won't expect it. The one thing we have going for us this time versus the past 2 seasons is Kevyn isn't under contract for next year (at present). MAYBE that's the thing Pegula was waiting for prior to making a significant move?
  19. Did the US Olympic team run any workouts this summer with the expanded roster they released a couple of months back that had Thompson and Tuch both on that list? The reason for the Q is: do they already know they AREN'T making the US squad? Asking that because Thompson especially, but Tuch too, seem to be "off" this year. If they knew/ know they aren't going to be going to the Olympics, could that be part of their problem? Or flip side, are they so concerned about making that team that they're gripping their sticks too tight and playing quite poorly for what they'd been expected to bring? Hadn't heard anything at all about the Olympic rosters, but thought maybe some here have heard something.
  20. Slow clap, slow clap. Slow clap-clap-clap. Let's gooo Buffff a -- what the hell. Malenstyn's 2nd, too.
  21. Provided nothing but a โ€œblockโ€ to the players from picks in rounds 3-7 making it to the show
  22. Needed that to land Bernard-Docker; Gilbert wasn't enough. Oh ...
  23. It is, because โ€œscoringโ€ was always being used as a synonym for forwards who can contribute to the creation we need we needed more good forwards - more impact forwards. the context is that subtracting Peterka and adding Doan and Danforth was never the attention the forward unit needed and it was never close to enough
  24. Thoughts? Figured this might help lighten the mood weโ€™re all in over the current mess. If youโ€™ve never seen this, enjoy lol
