I would put Johnson with Power only because Timmins and Samuelsson worked well enough last game to give it another chance. It was the first game in a long time where I didn't want to rant about Samuelsson after. That alone is worth keeping the pairing intact in the short-term. Especially since Kesselring will eventually return to partner with Power.

FFS it was one game. You know the Rangers were shut out in their first game too. No one said they would never score another goal. We are not tanking after losing game 1 out of 82.

Who cares what the doctors say - when it comes to his CURRENT health yes sure they had no concerns with his shoulder. What the GM has to do which the doctor cannot is say “the greatest predictor of injury is prior injury. Yea sorry Ottawa I’m going to look somewhere else.” That clip screams of a GM looking for or wanting to find justification/confirmation that he’s making the right move - a real GM just doesn’t sound like that. I want my GM to say “thanks for the medicals but I know how this goes with players like Norris and the asset I’m trading MUST get me a sure return.”

No when you have the worst GM in the league and that’s non hyperbolic you get better by simply sending him out the door. We aren’t just saying these things. i don’t care how bad Terry is, Adams is a hugely problematic and destructive entity all his own. Try someone else - was obviously the correct course during the offseason. Anyone else would be preferable. Literally

He can't clean house without having someone better that is identified and ready to take over. That will probably be after the season. He cannot let Adams make trades of key assets like Tuch, Byram, etc. Adams is not a capable GM and has to go. For Terry to think Adams can POHO and Jarmo GM - no to that too. This roster does not look like a playoff team but maybe the team can actually compete and win a few games and the season can be about Benson, Kulich, Doan, Helenius, Kesselring, Power, and a TBD goalie all getting better? That is what they need to happen anyway. Game 2 is just hours away.

Agree completely. The players and the fans deserve better. Bettman is a Pegula fan. A competent NHL Commissioner would back channel Pegula to run Adams, Ruff, Appert, and the rest of the Sabres staff out of town to give the fan base hope.

Tanking for McKenna, sad thing is San Jose is ahead of their rebuild over the Sabres. Trading for Norris and taking on a higher contract for a player that can’t stay healthy is just pure stupidity. Not sold on giving Kekalainen a chance either at GM. His record with Columbus isn’t all that good either.

Tuch should be dealt no way he’s going to want to stick around now - yes this Norris injury is that significant. And KA should NOT BE MAKING ANY TRADES. He has until Halloween then it’s time to clean house. Which begs the question. Can you get the best candidates for a GM job at the start of a season - I’ll be realistic and say Thanksgiving? If the answer is “no” you really need to do this after the season - then that means if Tuch is traded it’s going to be by people not in charge long term. Oh wait. That would be Terry who’d probably make the trade anyway. My bad.
