  1. Past hour
  2. I know, right? It's hard to record assists while on IR.
  3. Norris is one of the worst assist getters in the league statistically
  4. He doesn’t have to go on waivers again unless he’s been on the NHL roster for 30 days or has played in 10 games.
  5. As long as we’re willing to admit that this decision is based solely on bias.
  6. Promotion only in name, probably into “token” roles that have little to no impact on actually building the team. As much as it’s a comment on how low a bar Adams has set while being in the chair, I won’t look upon a GM change as anything but a promising relative development Everyone knows the buck stops at Terry and we can talk about that until the cows come home but there’s no question that *at least* the second most influential mind behind the construction of the team is the guy who sits in the GM chair. That the person occupying said chair hasn’t, through aptitude, proper communication, and demonstrative results, managed to *become* THE lead voice, if they haven’t, is as much a comment on the failings of said GM(s) as anything. A paramount failure of the Adams’ regime
  7. Yeah, why are people talking top six forward for him? Lack of forward scoring is not the only problem with this team. I'd take a rock solid veteran defender and a forward prospect thrown in. This would improve the team immediately. They have too many offensive defensemen and Power is truly "offensive". I'd really like to know Lindy's opinion of Power and his potential to FIT the team need.
  8. We have a playmaking 1C on IR. I'd take Metsa over Bryson, but I'd play him several more games to make sure. Would also like to see the Russians thought too.
  9. He , as always , refused to battle along the boards on multiple occasions. Turn overs and poor entry at attack blue line as well. I counted at least three times in our own zone he was to the puck first and came away with nothing but looking at a Canadien backside with the puck. No fight in his bones!
  10. If you trade Power, you might as well begin the tear down.... Dahlin, Byram, Thompson, Tuch, Benson.... all on the table. Fire everybody and start over with competent management who can build a roster correctly. It sucks, but this team is nowhere near challenging for a playoff spot, nor is there a clear path to do so. This team is a joke. At their best they rely on all-world goaltending to keep them in games. At their worst, they're not even competitive at the NHL level. The fact they're a cap team with < $1m is space absolutely astounding.
  11. This is a good point. Sell low? No thanks
  12. Reinhart was a ghost well into his 4th post draft season. Clock turned for him January 1, 2018. Power isn’t even there yet and he’s a d-man with a longer dev curve
  13. Most Yankee fans do not like the Dodgers no matter what. I am an exception. Probably because the first World Series that I consciously watched and followed was the Dodgers vs Twins in 1965, and the next year it was Dodger vs Orioles. So I have a soft spot for them, even though I am a Yankees fan. I will pull for the Jays, but I think the Dodgers will win.
  14. Today
  15. Too young, too talented, too surrounded by ineptitude, too many games that look like this: seen it too many times before, I have. I wouldn’t trade him. Nor would I allow a flailing management group to do so. Seller beware. Ymmv
  16. You are overrating Bryam. If you trade Power, you are creating another big hole for an already incomplete team. Makes even less sense if KA is executing the transaction. It would be like going back to the same inept surgeon who botched your surgery. So did Tuck and Tage.
  17. “Don’t hate the player..” yup
  18. Benson is not a pure passer/playmaker but he can create offense, which is why he has so many assists right now. I am suggesting our top 6 is below average, as you saw against Montreal, and we need a playmaking center to maximize what Tage can do, which is finish plays, not create them. I also saw Benson play on other lines in an effort to get offensive zone time for the other lines.
  19. Think we might get Bo back too. Dodgers are obviously the favourite, be real. Defending champs. Ohtani. They’re the Dodgers. But pressure and expectation can be a *very* funny thing in sports. The situation at large definitely benefits the Jays imo. Their offence also frankly *has* been better than everyone else’s this postseason, including the Dodgers, and by a not insignificant margin. Vladdy the best hitter on the planet right now. Ohtani and Vladdy, Dodgers vs Jays, World Series game 1, Rogers Centre. Honestly, as Jays fans, we’ve already won. Now go get 4 more.
  20. No worries. I took it as an open question to all Yankee fans.
  21. Dodgers just too good...probably win in 4 or 5...6 max most likely.
  22. I didn’t mean you specifically, but I could see why you would respond because the posts were back to back. 😊
  23. what are you getting for him? Regardless of what you think of him defensively, you would be losing an elite puck moving defensemen who has repeatedly been among the best in the NHL at generating transition offense from his own zone with stretch passes thru the neutral zone setting up counters and odd man rushes going back to his rookie season.
  24. I just don't see it with Byram. What I see in him is a player with above average to very good raw skill, but he only executes it to an average-to-slightly above average level. I equate him to the defense version of what Cozens is/was at forward. Lots of skill...looks good doing it...but the execution just isn't there. I just put Bryam a bit higher than Cozens because he doesn't kill you with as many boneheaded plays. But overall for me he's still in the "looks like a Ferrari, Drives like a Camry" category.
  25. To me its probable that the new GM is Jarmo. The reason he is on the payroll now is so he can be closer to the team and is alread starting his roster evaluation.
  26. I don’t hate the Dodgers because they have more financial resources to attract and sign free agents nor are the Yankees my favorite team for six decades because they can do the same. I certainly understand why others could hate teams for that reason, but until baseball implements a fairer system, it’s naive to think big market, big money teams won’t continue to do just that. The Dodgers and Yankees didn’t create the unfair system and I certainly don’t blame free agents for making what they can when they can. Ironically, those 1990s Yankee championship teams were largely comprised of farm grown talent, like the core four of Jeter, Posada, Rivera, and Pettite for example. We can add with Bernie Williams to the list as well.
