NHL suspends players acquitted in 2018 sexual assault trial until Dec. 1
shrader replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Along the note of all of this, I just saw on TSN that an ECHL team just signed the guy who kicked Adam Johnson during a game a couple years ago. That was the one where his skate cut Johnson's neck and he died. It's only the ECHL, but I bet that team is going to face a ***** storm. -
The Pats*** will be another tough intra-divisional game imo.
-
Yup. SHOULD be 6-0 at the bye. But they have to go out and actually play them, so we shall see, but liking the chances of it.
-
Which 2 preseason games are getting cancelled? 😉 They have h&h's with Columbus, Detroit, & the Pens. The league isn't going to 84 games in the RS until next year. It's still 6 - 82 & 1st to 16 out of 28 this time around. NEXT year they reduce the PS.
-
We will be getting some fresh D-line back in a few weeks from suspensions as well should help out. The Bill have another TNF game coming up in the second half of the season.

I think the Sabres, like the Bills, are a collaborative environment. I believe that the roster is created by a coordinated effort among Adams, Ruff, and now Jarmo. Other individuals on the coaching and hockey-side management staffs also have input. I don't believe that Adams is a puppet for Ruff, but they certainly communicate and work together to assemble the roster. Given his level of experience, Ruff may have more input/influence than Granato did. In any case, I don't believe that Adams (and his staff) and Ruff (and his staff) are operating in a vacuum. Borrowing a concept from an old Bill Parcells (NFL coach) quote, Adams is doing the grocery shopping to purchase the ingredients and Ruff is cooking the meals, but Ruff works closely with Adams to determine what goes on the shopping list. I suspect that Ruff has a lot more influence on personnel than Adams does on practice and game management. In my opinion, that's how a professional sports team should operate, but it doesn't mean that Adams is good at shopping or that Ruff is good at making the meals.

Thoughts After the Death of Charlie Kirk
Demoted replied to Taro T's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
MARTHA MACCALLUM: Charlie said, you know, that there was no such thing as hate speech. He obviously– you know no one anticipated what would happen to Charlie. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Yeah–. He might not be saying that now! MARTHA MACCALLUM: But you have always been in favor of free speech. So do you have concerns about–. You know some people look at this, and your critics will say, well–. This crackdown is a crackdown on free speech. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: You know, it’s interesting. I watch your show and I watch others and I see people saying things. They’re crazy. He never cared about this guy. -
Saints and Pats coming up. Stack wins early.

As long as he's the Fishies HC, love the SOB. Hope he's there for the next 2 decades. Unfortunately, not sure he'll be there for their next 2 games. The Fishies were treating this like their SB IMHO. They were doing a bunch of stuff that seemed outside their normal wheelhouse. And they did do a good job of keeping the Bills D off Tua for the most part. Seemed they did want their coach to keep his job. Wonder if they'll still have that same intensity Monday when they complete their 1st round of facing divisional opponents.

I'd think that if UPL is still injured and not yet up to speed that we'd see Lyon, or maybe even Georgiev, as the plan seems to be to allow Levi additional time to develop in Rochester. That said, training camp and the preseason have not even started yet, so maybe the Sabres are waiting to see who performs the best. If Levi looks the best in camp & preseason action, should he get the net on opening night? And if so, what's the plan for Rochester?
-
No, we should be preparing for Lyon
-
Unfortunately Bob has to bow out so we now have 4 - paid 2 - reserved 2 - available.
-
Three NFL games in 12 nights has a tendency to wear people out. I thought the D line looked tired most of the evening. And I doubt they expected Tua to move around like he did. I don’t recall them using designed rollouts before, either.
-
I assume Lyon gets the nod unless Georgiev outperforms him in camp
- Today
-
The concerning part is no update to UPL and a timeline. I just started a new thread to discuss. If I am the decision maker, it has to be Levi on opening night….right?
-
I posted this in the training camp thread, but wanted to talk about where we are. There are only four preseason games and they start Monday. Should we be preparing for Devon Levi to be G1 on opening night? UPL is hurt and not much info is available for a timeline. Lyon is an NHL backup who can get hot. Georgiev is a lotto ticket who was signed as a just in case. Are we here expecting UPL out and Lyon or Levi as a starter? Who owns the crease on Oct 9? It is only 2.5 weeks away. Is Devon the plan?
-
I think UPL remains the plan for now. The fact the Levi is with the Amerks, not the Sabres emphasizes that he is not currently the plan. But like a noted intellect once observed, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.
-
Serious question. Should we be preparing for Devon Levi to be G1 on opening night? UPL is hurt and not much info is available for a timeline. Lyon is an NHL backup who can get hot. Georgiev is a lotto ticket who was signed as a just in case. Are we here with a just in case mentality? Who owns the crease on Oct 9? It is only 2.5 weeks away. Is Devon the plan?

Not to mention it's a Thursday night game no no real good time to prep. Some of these people just love to be miserable. I can guarantee most of them have never even played football.

What would you say to Lindy when he tells reporters he wants to maximize the implementation of structural changes in the way the team plays defence? He said wants those systems absorbed together by the players most likely to be playing together and tested against the best possible opponents, rather than minor-leaguers and prospects. You say Kulich is not ready for 2nd line minutes, and Benson is not ready for 1st line minutes, and you've said none of the Sabres minor leaguers are NHL ready. And you've also said they're not giving players chances to prove themselves and find chemistry. Explain to me how that isn't arguing against yourself.
-
PerreaultForever started following Is this Lindy’s team now?
-
I see nothing different. He was excited at the beginning of the last camp too.
-
If Kulich is your 2C you are asking too much too soon imo and you are asking Tuch to basically carry the line. Kulich as 2C is the Cozens mistake all over again. Not saying Kulich is the same as Cozens, it's just the same failed development model.
