  2. Well, ultimately, for this part of the debate, the sales pitch was an upgrading of the 4th line from Girgs, Krebs, Okposo and what they did instead was toss away a 2nd round draft pick and add two stiffs in Lafferty and Kubel who didn't even last a season. Just another example of why the team doesn't get better. So this year we added some guys BUT we also subtracted some and thus it seems unlikely we are any better yet again.

  4. Trump tried to have non-citizens discounted in 2020 by adding a citizenship question to the census but the SCOTUS did not agree and he will face the same challenge this time around. Bottom line is that it would take a Constitutional amendment to Article 1, Section 2 to have non-residents discounted in a census.
  5. Did the Senate pass this bill? Did the president sign it into law?
  6. I am higher on Östlund than most of the fanbase, and to me it is no contest. You keep Helenius. Noah’s goal scoring ceiling is higher, but Konsta’s ceiling is higher for everything else. He was also a better player in the playoffs while being the youngest guy in the league. I like them both, but hold Helenius all day.
  7. I love fiddling with line combinations as much as any fan, but check out one of the sites that tracks this stuff. It’s so all over the map though the course of a season I’m not sure it matters. To me it’s about ice time and situational use.
  8. Östlund is a better player right now but he’s 2 years older and not as edgy. I think their niche is each middle-six centre. I take Helenius, but it’s close enough that I’d let the buyer have his pick and not sweat it
  9. This question is directed towards those who follow the Amerks: If a trade was made trading either Östlund or Helenius in a deal, which player would you rather keep?

  11. You maybe missed the House of Representatives vote on May 8, 2024, before Trump won the election, passing by a vote of 206-202? House of Representatives passes Edwards’ bill to only include U.S. citizens in congressional representation I believe it was stated that the census is not for the purpose of redrawing Congressional districts, you're correct in that not being allowed. I believe the purpose is to eliminate large numbers of illegals, especially in sanctuary cities and states, from the census in an effort to reduce number of seats in blue districts. I'm not saying it's right, or i agree with it, just sharing something i find interesting.

  13. Article 1, Section 2 clearly mandates every 10 years. MANDATED. Whether or not you agree that all the people shouldn’t be counted is irrelevant because, again, the Constitution decrees that all residents be counted. Yes, and this bill relates to funding and funding only based on updated population counts. Ironically, the final paragraph above makes clear that a mid-decade census PROHIBITS redrawing Congressional districts. Regardless, none of the language contained in HR 11337 changes the mandate in Article 1, Section 2 that ALL people shall be counted, citizen or not.
  14. Trump’s mid decade census is authorized by law and will help strip blue states of funding flowing to illegal aliens. This authority is based on HR 11337, which authorized a mid decade redistricting. It was passed in 1976 under a Democrat House and Senate and then signed into law by Jimmy Carter. It requires that eligibility for federal benefits and fund allocations be based on the most recent decennial or mid-decade census data. However, it prohibits the use of mid-decade census data for apportioning seats in the House of Representatives or redrawing congressional districts.
  15. This is not correct at all. Every ten years has been the standard, but it CAN be done more frequently, it just hasn't been done before Trump. And no, illegal immigrants should not be counted in the census. On this we agree.
  16. The manner in which he was hired was a charade. It was a typical Terry Pegula third-rate approach to running a franchise.
  17. There is one other possibility and that's that Ruff isn't as respected or connected any more as we think he is. Maybe he didn't have a bunch of possible assistants who wanted to work with him ready? In any event, all the assistants suck.
  18. I guess that's true. I've already wiped most of last season out of my memory.
  19. McDonalds exists because standards are low, very low. My advice is to never eat that stuff.
  20. Ruff has been in the NHL long enough to know what the standard practice is regarding staff when a new coach takes over. He agreed to the arrangement of retaining the former staff. After a year, he has kept the same staff in place. If it’s a shiiit show (your description) he’s agreed to again role in the manure pile.
  21. It’s amazing how quickly a “hands off” policy was implemented by ICE after the Nebraska raid on a meat processing facility there. They won’t touch any illegal immigrants working at such factories in red states. Trump clearly has his marching orders.
  22. Maybe Trump will allow some people who are not white to be counted as 3/5th's of a vote? They are probably still going to count the illegals in the republican factories correct? Wonder if they will even need to pay those immigrants since they wont be counted as people on earth. Then they can become property I guess...
  23. Ruff has been in the game too long to not want his own staff. He was hamstrung by ownership and Buffalo's current optics. It's a sh$t show
  24. Trump needs to read the Constitution which clearly enumerates EVERY 10 YEARS and should count THE WHOLE NUMBER OF PERSONS IN EACH STATE, which includes EVERYBODY, not just citizens.
  25. Nice. Long time ago saw him open for Steve Winwood. That was a great show.
  26. Mcdonald's. Other than last year stopping to get one of their ice cream sundaes, I hadn't been in a McDonald's for years until a few days ago. I was driving back from work and stopped at the McDonald's in Medina, New York. First of all, the bathroom was bordering on disgusting. Next, I don't know what kind of tile floors they have, but the floor had just been mopped and it was like walking on ice. Even when I got to a dry part of the floor, Even the tiniest residual moisture on the bottom of my shoes made it where I was about ready to fall and slide again. I looked at the breakfast menu, they have combo meals that cost almost $10. Really? Finally, I'm not a big coffee drinker but the graphic they have showing their coffees looked interesting so I tried one. Some sort of iced coffee...but it was very bitter, and they put caramel syrup in it where the syrup was dripping down the inside of the cup and the outside of the cup where it was sticky when I grabbed it. Then it said at the bottom of the cup and when I had some through the straw I was getting weird chunks of caramel.. it never fully mixed with the coffee. If this is representative of what McDonald's are like these days, I can't see why they are remotely doing as well as a company as they actually are.
  27. Usually, when a new HC takes over there is a major cleaning house of coaches from the previous regime. The new coach usually brings in mostly a new staff. I'm just curious as to whether the coaches who worked under Granato were forced on him or whether he wanted to keep the staff in place. Just curious. Now that Ruff has one year under his belt, he should have a better grasp of the different personalities and have a better feel for what each player's strength and weaknesses are. I just didn't get the sense that this was a well coached team because the players seem to make the same mistakes. (That's my opinion based on watching the games without resorting to analytics.)
  28. Because players don’t play together nearly as much as depth charts indicate. Malenstyn played away from Lafferty nearly as much as he did with him
