The forwards as they stand right now are so up in the air. Norris is one of the top 6 centres, who is the other: Kulich, McLeod or Thompson? Do they put Tuch and Thompson together on a real 1st line or split them up for balance? Which offensive options get to play with the big boys: Kulich, Benson, Quinn or Zucker? Where does the odd man out from the above group fit? Is he sitting? Are Krebs, Danforth, Doan and Greenway energy line role players, or will Lindy sprinkle some in with the skill guys? Is Malenstyn the spare forward, as of now? Does Kozak make the team? Does Geertsen make the squad as a token deterrent a la Andrew Peters? 2 scoring lines, 1 checking line, 1 energy line? 2 2-way lines, 1 sheltered offensive line, 1 energy line? 3 balanced lines and 3 role players? There’s so little established in terms of patterns. Peterka’s out, Norris and Greenway didn’t really play down the stretch, Danforth and Doan are new. You know Lindy’s going to lean on Tage and Tuch, and Norris will probably be the same. I expect McLeod to get a ton of ice time, but I’m not sure how or with who. After that there is a lot of space for people to carve out some territory. And I am including unexpected people like Greenway, Krebs and Danforth in that equation. I have no real sense of how this is going to settle, but maybe it will coalesce around a new edition.

I think the difference between us was I had 14 forwards: Benson, Quinn, Krebs, Norris, Tuch, Thompson, McLeod, Greenway, Zucker as more or less secure. Five more openings. But you’re right, they might keep 13 forwards. There’s probably 1 or 2 more moves coming: They sign Byram and add a forward, or They trade Byram for 2 players, or trade him and infill behind him afterwards

If teams are being that aggressive there is zero reason why Adams shouldn't pull a Regier level fleecing in any deal for him. Anything that isn't a lopsided win for the Sabres especially when looked at as a package of what we got with the Peterka trade included is a major failure.

This is how I've been feeling since they traded JJP. It also feels 90% likely that they will be bottom-5 in payroll yet again. They are officially not a real NHL team until proven otherwise. Such a disappointment.

I just dont see LA trading Byfield in a year that they want to win, I would absolutely die if we got him, casue it would be amazing, but I just dont see it

Byfield be great yet can't see Kings doing it without a C prospect back.

I still think Byfield could be special. I think I’d even do Byram and Östlund (and that hurts because I really like Östlund) for Byfield and a 2nd.

I throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I see Quinn in the top 6. Its such a roll of the dice.

Rosen has little value and Muel has negative value. IMO the Blues GM hangs up as soon as offer is made.

My comment has nothing to do with Buffalo as a city. Yes, been to St Louis a lot and they have a rabid fan base, a owner that wants to win, a winning culture, and its actually a very nice city too. (As a city itis similar to Buffalo but lacks the beauty of the Great Lakes. They certainly they have lots of inner city problems and many very beautiful and wealthy suburbs)

Or Byram + Samuelsson + Rosen for Parayko + Holloway I’d do Byram + Krebs for Andersson + Zary and take my chances that Rasmus with Rasmus is the best top D pairing in the league and he is convinced to sign here

How about Byram + Rosen for Holloway + Broberg/Fowler ? Or if we could get Holloway + Neighbours that would be ideal. Not sure what we’d need to add, but do it

Happy belated Canada Day! In the past few weeks I spent a day in Vancouver and a day in Victoria while cruising to Alaska. First time in BC and I would go back for sure. Great cities, great province, great people. Be proud. We met several nice Canadians couples on the cruise too.

And meanwhile many around here are ready to write someone off after one year as a pro. Our minds have been so warped by the last 14 years.
