Considering the number of picks and where we have been picking, I wouldn't say our prospect pool is overflowing with potential NHL talent. To be fair, some of our top picks have started with the Sabres, but I would have hoped that we would have more overall talent in our prospect pool given the trades we made for picks and the 14 years and counting of not making the playoffs. If we don't make the playoffs this season and we name a new GM, I hope there will be a revamping of our scouting efforts as well.

One of my HUGE problems with Adams is he seems to feel that the Sabres are an unattractive destinations for players, and they probably are, but the GM should NOT feel that way. I feel like that governs (or limits) what he's willing to try to do. He seems to accept that it's very hard to lure people to Buffalo because the org is viewed as a joke (partially because of him) so he doesn't really try to make any splashy moves. We need somebody who says "***** that" and is willing to, and has the BALLS to go after those kind of players. Adams ain't that guy.

When Byram and pieces are dealt for Robertson feel free to gloat to your hearts content. Personally, my preference is Byram signed to term, followed by a deal for a top six forward. History and the tea leaves have taught me to expect Byram for a lesser defenceman and a lesser forward, with any leftover cap space invested into the new Bills stadium concourse or a bilge pump system for Terry’s yacht. But I am genuinely looking forward to the day when you are finally able to say “I told you so.”

I have no interest in Byram at 5mil+. Just another PMD. Trade him for an NHL player, prospects or picks. Use the money elsewhere.
