  1. Past hour
  2. So the Amerks have finished their semifinal series before Laval/Cleveland have played their 2nd game? Charlotte/Providence haven't even played their first semifinal game. They could have 10-12 days off before they play again. Strange scheduling.
  3. Did your source tell you anything and are you playing coy, or is it like Schrodinger's cat?
  4. I always wanted the Sabres to honor the Calder Cup Bisons but I heard that since KBC is a Coca Cola only venue they couldn't display the old Pepsi logo.
  5. Cool. In a similar vain but back in the mid 50’s, the Buffalo Hockey Bison were bought by the Pastor Brothers, who ran the Pepsi Bottling Plant in Buffalo, hence the iconic Pepsi cap logo.
  6. I haven't been on this thread for a while now... Just checkin' in on the changes... Anything yet?
  7. That would be a great way to do it.
  8. Today
  9. So, I've been pretty checked out on the Sabres, but I am interested in whether anything significant happens in the organization. It sounds like TP and KA had a meeting on Sunday -- i.e. 5 days ago -- but there's been no announcement of any change. It also sounds like the consensus here is that either nothing will change or, best case, KA is kicked upstairs and Karmanos is named GM, with Lindy having a greater say in matters. Serious question: could the lack of an announcement portend greater changes? TP has never kicked anyone upstairs before. Just the opposite -- he gets fed up and fires everyone, damn the torpedoes. We're still early in the playoffs, i.e. well before the draft and the FA season. Is it possible that TP wants to see who from around the NHL becomes available from teams that get knocked out of the playoffs so he can maybe hire someone with a real resume and not just shuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic? With each passing day, does that outcome become more likely? (...he said bravely.)
  10. Thought we would have heard something by now.
  11. I'd also add I'm doubtful Kyle Dubas is a good gm.
  12. I will maintain sidelines has the best medium wings in Buffalo. Specifically medium though.
  13. Komarov and Brannstrom are very different players. Komorov looks like a Vulture on skates. He likes to hit and he will clear the space around the net. Brannstrom is smaller but is faster and better with his stick He is also more experienced being 4 years older. Speaking of injuries I wonder what happened to Conor Sheary. The Crunch leading scorer was missing and the help from Tampa, Geekie and Crozier were not enough against the Amerks.
  14. When the team moved to Syracuse from Hamilton in 1992 as the Vancouver affiliate, the Nestle plant in Fulton, north of Syracuse, was a major sponsor of the team. A fan vote picked the name Crunch. Over time its affiliation changed to Columbus, Anaheim, and currently Tampa. But the name remained even though the Nestle plant is long gone.
  15. Well, they likely do need those too. But the D personnel (and IMHO the D scheme) had a greater need to be improved this off-season.
  16. So, are they going to have the 4 balls pop out of the shoot live on air or are they going to still do the stupid "flip the cards" immediately after the balls were drawn? Guess it could be kind of cool if they showed all the 1001 permutations on a video board like the Sabres now have but with team logos instead of the actual # combos and as balls get drawn, all the losing combinations go dark until there's only 1 logo left lit up.
  17. @Brawndo with a fake out? C’mon man, hit us with the breaking news that we all REALLY want today 😜
  18. Can't make chicken salad from chicken #### regardless of how good the chef is.
  19. Well, if we're going with places nobody has ever visited or heard of, better wings than from any of those places already mentioned come out of my kitchen (and campground as the case may be). 😉
  20. But, but, but, we need more WR's!
