  1. Past hour
  2. Exactly!!! Not to mention he was a tire fire defensively. Both players brought in have what this team needs. Some smart physicality and they are both tenacious! Doan forechecks like crazy and has decent speed. In this case i think we were overvaluing JJ. I still think we need to add another Solid Dman and a goal scorer. I have zero faith in Adams, but holds on to a bit of hope he can get this fixed.
  3. Cons: I'm going to miss "meesa Jar Jar Peterka! Meesa score bombad goals!" and the Peterka Puts It Away cat. Pros: He's the d-man that made the Kesselring in less than 12 parsecs! He's a spice mine! So... it'll all work itself out on the board.
  4. On today’s menu: JJ Peterka, addition by subtraction eat up. Mmmm. Gruel. Enabler
  5. Thank you. Didn't feel like looking up the entirety of that trade. GMs over pay all the time even for players with huge ???'s. Even if it was addition by subtraction, the rest of the addition should've been more.
  6. Because we knew the reason was bs for about 2yrs now or more and we've already discussed it. It isn't interesting to go back to the fact Kevyn is full of it.
  7. I think Byram will bring in Dahlins partner, I still think that’s the plan, and I wouldn’t be suprised if it’s someone similiar to Kesserling, but I’m guessing a vet
  8. I don’t know how people can spend time discussing the return, burying the lead that we were specifically lied to, sold a fraudulent, disingenuous bill of goods, and then they took our money and more importantly our time with smiles on their faces, with zero regard for their worth, flushed it down the toilet, and are asking fans to do it again. Discuss the return - you are discussing the merits of the different types of lotion buffalo bill is lowering down into your hole. Go on. Lube up. Or stand up for something.
  9. Lambert at Elite Prospects have Buffalo a B- and Utah a C grade for this trade. Reasons being Peterka's underlying numbers are bad and his shooting might have been lucky. Also he notes that Doans underlying metrics were great and he has some untapped potential coming.
  10. Don't sell the rest of the trade short. Yashin netted Chara, Muckalt, and #2 overall (Spezza). Ottawa got a HOF defenseman and a better center who gave them 11 seasons of point-per-game production.
  11. If Kesselring is the answer to help out Power and Byram is dealt, they need to find a partner for Dahlin. I don’t want to see Mule in that role.
  12. I actually loved JBD play last season. I have mentioned this a few times. I get it, small sample size, but on a defensive deficient team, he stood out in my eyes. A solid 5-6 defensive guy that can be bumped to 3-4 for short periods and not cost you anything as he definitely handles his own end well.
  13. Yea. Especially with all our late picks.
  14. Adding cheap players gives you the ability to just bury him or bench him if you can't find a taker.
  15. Is Vanek’s kid worth a punt?
  16. Even if it's addition by subtraction. The poster child for addition by subtraction: Alexei Yashin netted Zedeno Chara. There are ALWAYS GMs that beiieve HIS system and HIS people can overcome any issues that a particular player might bring with him. Even if this trade HAD to happen prior to the draft (or Utah would move on to a different move), there were still nearly 2 more days before that.
  17. Something that is below the radar to me is Bertnard-Docker. I'd like to see a bigger sample of him....as I didn't hate what little I saw last season. He should still be cheap as an RFA. I won't be surprised to see Clifton gone at the deadline (if not before).
  18. https://edge.nhl.com/en/skater/8484145 Try to find a 1st line player with worse numbers. I am not saying Benson is trash but promoting him to top line when every other player with Thompsons abilities gets to play with proven better players. Matthews, McDavid, McKinnon, etc. don't have to put up with what we do to Thompson.
  19. That’s the crux right there. You nailed it.
  20. Umm we just got one, as pretty sure the Doans should count. Since the original Winnipeg Jets became the Coyotes who became the Mammoth.
  21. It's close to Toronto where he is from? He gets to play Toronto a bunch of times and can stick it to them if he plays good in those games? In the last 20 years the Sabres have about the same amount of playoff series wins as Toronto? That's about all I got
  22. I like the d-corps as currently constructed. It could have a solid 3-year window to gel with bridges (or more) on Byram, Kesselring, and JBD. Byram-Dahlin Power-Kesselring Samuelsson-JBD (Clifton, Bryson-waive to AHL/tweener callup) The issue of course, is that it's not EEE if Byram, JBD, or Kesselring don't want to be here or want long-term deals. With the cap escalating, though, why would you go for a long-term deal if you're still on the ascent? As others have said along the thread, this trade lacks a 2nd or a swap of the firsts. Add #4, take away #9 and this trade works. Or, more likely, at least get that 2nd if they're being punks. Honestly, add #4 and I'm happy because I think you can still get more out of Quinn and Benson. And if Byram moves for a top-6 forward, it can still be OK. If this is the case, we have to wait for Peterka to become a legitimate star, lead the Coyotes to a President's Trophy, a WCF... before departing in free agency. We'll be at year 19 by then.
  23. I can't lie I don't hate this trade which is why I don't think it's Adams who made it LOL we get 2 guys who arent afraid at all mixing it up and throwing their body around. Shane Doan has a that fire like his dad did and is growing more and more into it. The only thing I don't like is that both of them are RFA's next season and we could be going through the same thing again next offseason but I don't hate this at all.
  24. Interestingly, Adams has added 2 rhd in the last 4 months. A soon to be 25yr old Bernard-Docker and a 25yr old Kesselring.
