Don't know that it's his energy so much as giving up really bad goals at really inopportune times that drags the team down. Or more accurately, the expectation of his teammates due to past history that he's "due" for a bad goal; so they find themselves trying to keep avoid all shots against (which will never happen) so they end up giving up even better chances against than they'd give up if they were playing the way they were supposed to and end up giving up even more goals and the cycle just feeds on itself. If you don't trust the goalie, you don't play the way you should. And if you don't play the way you should, you'll lose a lot of games you could've won.

Ha ha, any deal for UPL will be derided so does it matter? People hated the waiver pickup of Ellis! My point is the Sabres should try to get the most for UPL or any player they move. Of course a clock is ticking when they will need the roster spot a third goalie is taking up, so there's that. But that deadline isn't upon them yet. We don't know what is going on or what calls have been made or taken. But our favorite pastime is creating our own stories.

Personally, expect he will look a BIT better on another roster. Both he and the Sabres seem to be at the point that everyone needs him to get a fresh start and the change of scenery combined with somebody really WANTING him will give him a bit of a bounce. But also am ok with that. Just personally don't see him ever fully getting out of his own head regardless of where he's at. If he ever does, look out, he could be truly elite; but that's a huge if and really doubt that'd ever happen while he's a Sabre. Heck, it isn't likely he'd do it elsewhere either, but it's not 100% out of the question. And even if he does get out of his own head, doubt it'd be totally trajectory changing like when Roloson switched from a stand up/ reaction goalie to a butterflier. Expect it'd more likely be catching lightning in a bottle for a season or 2 and then he'd go back to being what he is. An extremely frustrating goalie that lives up to expectations in only drabs and drips. Hope for his sake he figures out how to figure it out, but not expecting that.

UPL should not see the inside of a crease again unless one of the other two are injured Nowadays it doesn't matter cause they can just turn in homework whenever and get full credit usually. -

Funny I juat looked at the standings and I thought Boston and Ottawa were playing so good yet we are not far behond and have games in hand on everybody. Just hope that the team we saw against the Oilers and not the team that showed up againwt St. Louis (trying to forget that game). -

Depends entirely on your perspective. Back in the early 1970's the home weekday games started at 8:05 and the Sunday games were 7:05. The 8:05 start gave me plenty of time and motivation to get my homework done, and the better the grades the more games I got to attend. -

They are literally 4 points out of a playoff spot right now. If they win tonight they will be no more than 4 points out of a playoff spot. If all the other teams lose, they could be as few as 2 points (although might not be possible if some of the teams ahead of us play each other tonight. But yeah. If they win tonight, they stay no more than 4 points behind a playoff spot. -

I was expecting UPL to help get Lyon more rest. Hmmm. Lindy likes to ride the hot goalie. -

2-4 points out? Nah. Tonight gets them to a point a game pace. Not nearly enough. But, yes, they will have weathered two storms. The optimism at roughly the quarter pole is they have a chance. After two 10 pt. segments, they need a 14 or a 16. -

Agree with all of it And not only that, something about him (his "energy" "chi" whatever) drags the whole frigging team down He's the official pariah of this drought IMO Not only does he not need to be in net for Buf, he needs to be 86'd off the team

I'm one of those guys. I still think they should have packaged him a while back for a much needed vet. We've got too many F's and not enough spots in the lineup for them all. Now that his stock is up, I'd still package him. But I'm glad I'm wrong about him never being good. -

A win tonight at home, against the worst team in the league on a back to back not only will extend the winning streak to 3 games but it will have also properly weathered the injury storm, positioning us just 2-4 points out of a playoff spot with everyone finally returning for a (nearly, damn Kesselring) fully healthy roster for the first time this year. Theyβll have not only survived in the standings to be within reach, but also shown good systematic play being right around league average in 5v5 xGF%. Theyβll have done all of that with the most injury ridden team Iβve ever seen, certainly the most injury ridden team in the NHL this year, and with their star players having been off of their game the entire time. Iβd call this all reason for not just subtle optimism, but actually reason for plenty of optimism if they can win tonight. Buttttttt exactly because of those reasons in the very encouraging few paragraphs I just typed out, the Sabres will find a way to lose tonight as they always do in these games lol Go Sabres! -

This morning, the Bill ruled TE Dalton Kincaid, WR Curtis Samuel, and WR Mecole Hardman Jr. out for Thursday's game. Even if Moore draws in first, Keon has a spot.
