Seeing as how Josh was made for this town, clearly he goes a little to hard at a tailgate before each game.

It's kind of odd that this rumor took off while he was away for that reason. But anyway, it feels very obvious to me how this whole thing is going to play out. Unless someone asks the right question, nothing negative will be said about Adams. This was their plan all along and they finally reached the point where everyone was comfortable with Kekalainen's onboarding. People are going to want to rant about not being harsh enough about Adam's failures, but we need to take what we can get. No matter what reason's the team gives publicly, he'll be gone. That's a huge win.

My memory could easily be wrong, but my recollection in 2020 was that there was a press release announcing the firing of Jason Botterill. Shortly afterwards, there was a video conference call where both Terry and Kim Pegula were present to make a statement regarding the hiring of Kevyn Adams. Then there was some general Q&A. Due to Covid, it was all done virtually. Again, I could be wrong.

Is it possible that he was just another face in the crowd in Utah (despite his dad)? Maybe they didn't want to give him too much of a chance unless he clearly earned it because they didn't want it to look like nepotism? In Buffalo he's being evaluated on his merits more than his lineage perhaps, and given greater opportunity because of it.

Sympathetic morning sickness. Josh would be just the guy to get that. But I've heard he throws up every game. Probably just how he handles the stress of the position.

They haven't been elite. They've been good, though the ugliness of the losses even in this good stretch kind of obscures that. IF they could stay good, it MIGHT be enough. Problem is, we know that they'll have a couple more slumps along the way. (And that's being optimistic.) They need to find a reasonably long stretch of getting elite results - stretch this current 3 game streak to 7+ or if it ends this week, have a 5+ game win streak fairly soon. Get to a point where you only need to stay consistent and find maybe another 4 game W streak or 2 to offset the couple more 3-4 game losing streaks they surely still have in them. -
It’s hard to believe that we used to live in a world where Sullivan and Bucky Gleason had the same employer. Those truly were the best of times.

I don't think he's as bad as the forum apparently does. I think he might be in a Krebs-like situation. Expecting him to be a top line winger might not be the right spot. I think he does have offensive upside, but he needs a more complete game to fulfill his potential as a player. I see flashes of it and I think putting him on the PK will help him develop in the direction he needs to develop. I think his niche may be two-way player with some scoring touch, but he needs to establish the defensive side of his game some more to get there. Even so, I think he is reasonably defensive minded already. I see him skating back to prevent odd man rushes and stuff, I see him working the boards in both ends, I see him being physical when he can initiate the contact; he doesn't seem to like to get too involved in the scrums where it goes both ways though. He might click up a notch yet and become a useful player. Then again, maybe not. I think he's already more versatile than JJP was. Let's hope his development continues. The problem when a player comes up as a scorer and has a scoring drought, is that it looks like he's washed, or not capable. There are two ways to remedy that: score more and find other ways to contribute.

Replaced by JK(K?) with all the slugs slotted up a notch? Not sure. I think they need a JOLT. I would bet the players have a bigger issue with their fossilized coach. Interesting question tho. Is the mini winning streak relief that change is coming, did the rumor provide a jolt of its own, did they feel bad about possibly costing someone his job, are they playing to save his job, or are they just a bunch of unthinking jocks who went and played three games and happened to win them? I don't know.

Morning sickness?

I kind of like where the Sabres are at, talent-wise. You have a decent veteran based anchored by Tuch (for the time being anyway), Tage and Dahlin, and decent supporting cast. You have some young players that are past the "breaking into the NHL" stage and contributing in a significant way. And you have a few players right smack in the "breaking into the NHL" stage with more behind them. It's not a team built around a superstar; it's a team with a decent cast of characters that is growing into itself, with the right support being added (Zucker, McLeod, Doan, Kesselring, Norris, if the last two can get and stay healthy). I kind of think it will be ironic if Adams gets fired now because it feels like the last year or so he's finally learning the craft; or maybe that's just Jarmo taking the reins. A few players I think will be long term stalwarts on a successful Sabres team include Krebs, Kozak and Malenstyn. You might laugh, but that's the kind of player that's been missing. I'm also hoping that Östlund turns into this edition of the Sabres version of Tim Connolly, sans concussion issues. When he was sent down I thought maybe he needed some AHL time, but last night's game he looked great. Also looking forward to Rosén's return.

Have they been elite the last 15 games? They've secured 60% of points. 100 points left on the table. 32+60=92. Maybe enough? Last Dec. 15 the Sabres were 11-16-4 and in the midst of their losing streak. Also six points out, it felt insurmountable. The record this year, the trend line, offer a bit more hope. A bit.

He's already what i hoped he would develop into which is really impressive actually.

Thank you. Every season there are a handful of fans that want to minimize the level of effort they need to be back in the playoffs. “It’s only 6 points”, like they can leapfrog a bunch of teams next week. They’ve already dug a hole that would require elite level play to get out of. - Today

Maybe. Or maybe it's them finally getting healthy. Or maybe it's finally putting Lyon back between the pipes with a healthy team and both are playing towards their potential. Or maybe it's just them getting to play a string of bad teams and one that's good but underperforming in the 1st half of the schedule once again. We see what we want. So, sure, it's because they expect positive changes might soon be made. Of course, there's only a handful at best that should feel secure in their role should a new set of eyes be placed in charge; so would that cause them all (or most of them) to play better to try to be able to stay a part of the team as it presumably moves in the right direction or would that cause them to grip their sticks tighter as their personal futures are less secure? No idea. Maybe it's a little of all of it. Just hoping this expected move actually happens and that it does trigger better play. This season doesn't have to be lost yet. Well, that would explain his being in Finland the past few days. Condolences to him and his family. May his dad RIP.
