  1. Past hour
  2. If they were ALL traded I honestly don't think I'd miss anyone. Not if the team they got was a unit that could win. There are no untouchables here for me. I mean I like Benson and Dahlin is a top player who even has a little nastiness sometimes (which I think would come out more on a different team where he felt truly protected) and Doan and McLeod are okay but if you want to clean house have at it. After all the years of losing I don't think you can do another rebuild and keep Dahlin though. I don't think he'd be on board with another 5 year plan. You could only keep the very young ones.
  3. I think the fanbase has forgotten what truly special players on truly special teams feel like. Missing these guys is like celebrating Phil Housley’s number in the rafters.
  4. I will agree that line had it's moments but I actually like Dunn-Kozak-Malentstyn better. I think that's the most effective 4th line combo. I really think Kozak is better than Krebs but I guess the Sabres are still trying to convince us they won the Eichel trade.
  5. How do you propose the media pressure ownership? Paul Hamilton and Mike Harrington have been criticizing Pegula for years. And it’s been years since Terry had a press conference to answer their questions. Buffalo has one newspaper and one sports radio station. Everyone on there has said Pegula needs to clean house. The only people who can pressure Pegula are the people who keep buying tickets to see an inferior product.
  6. Speaking of hockey media it would be nice if the sports media in Buffalo was half as tough as the media in the big market cities whenever the home team plays lousy for too many years. If a team like the Sabres was in a city like NY, Philly, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, etc, the media there wouldn't pull any punches in pressuring ownership to clean house and do it sooner than later.
  7. For those saying Tuch, well, I got news for you…. If you miss him, you can always tune into the team he’s on next.
  8. Not at all. It doesn’t matter who you playing in front of. Or what arena you are playing in. The jolt was a having an owner who understood the value of winning; it starts at the top. The former Coyotes owner did not and neither does Terry.
  9. You nailed it for me with two of your phrases: "pull for" in your reference to pulling for Malenstyn and "fun to watch" referring to Doan and Zucker. Other than winning, I don't know what could be more important for a fan than having players you enjoy pulling for and players who make the game fun for you to watch.
  10. Was it Adams or Pegula who made the hire? I lean towards the owner but simply don't know for sure. The less than genuine coaching search bothered me more than the selection.
  11. Today
  12. Dahlin, Benson, Doan, Zucker I'm going to add Tuch to this.
  13. Amerks lose in OT to Charlotte 4-3. Were outshot in the 3rd 14-1. Levi had 40 saves.
  14. I won’t miss any of them. I save that for special players on special teams who gave me enjoyment and pride.
  15. Maybe “sacrificial lamb” is a more accurate term, but I still think he was scapegoated.
  16. To answer my own question, the players I would really miss watching would be Dahlin and Zucker. Dahlin for his sheer all around talent and Zucker for his intensity for the game and his hockey smarts. Honorable mention to McLeod, Doan, and Malenstyn, all selfless players who add some excitement.
  17. Still not really. But I will concede that Adams should have also been fired when Granato was.
  18. It was all a show.
  19. Then trade Tage for 1 Beta and 2 omegas.
  20. Yesterday
  21. We’re getting closer to posting the mathematical ninjutsu this team would have to do just to get a wild card spot. You know, where we say it’s possible if they win X games out of X even though they failed to do anything like it the whole season.
  22. The "coaching search" was the last straw for me with Adams. Zero effort. Nada. None. He made the laziest hire possible and thought he'd get away with it because Lindy would ride in on this glorious wave of nostalgia from when the Sabres were last a competent hockey organization. Never mind that he was a below average coach, at best, who had made the playoffs just 3 times in 11 years after the Sabres fired him. Piss off.
  23. What good could come of that? Everytime he speaks publicly he sticks his foot in his mouth.
  24. I’m sure I have recency bias but I’d cope well without any and all. I probably pull for Malenstyn now as much or more than the rest. Gives it every shift. Zucker and Doan are also fun to watch.
