  1. Past hour
  2. Omigosh I would have guessed this if asked. All of you Yes people are similar.
  3. Who is clamoring for any coach from the past? I've defended Granato's record. There is no denying that Granato got far more out of the team than Ruff has gotten. But, defending Granato's record isn't the same as arguing he should still be the coach. Better coaches than Granato are fired all of the time. The point is that Granato was fired after getting much more out of much less.
  4. And the hits just keep on coming...
  5. I grew up a huge prog rock head -- and Yes was my favourite band. I was super fired up when Yes's music was featured in the climactic confrontation scene and then again over the credit roll. From our perch in the 300s on the visitors side, I recall seeing him when he first went down -- on the Bills sideline -- and how he didn't pop back up. He walked unsteadily to the blue tent. Someone near me remarked that he'd recently been out with a concussion. I assumed he'd be done for the day. Nope. I'm sure he said he felt fine and that he was good to go. The teams and the league need to save these guys from themselves.
  6. Thursday's came in Vancouver says, "Hold my beer!"
  7. No, that was two games ago. They're done.
  8. Tua levels of player mismanagement. These are human beings. FFS.
  9. If the Sabres were serious about this 3 goalie rotation they'd give each goalie 1 period a game.
  10. Was it a mistake to trade Jonas Johansson? Why couldn't Devin Cooley make his transformation to NHL backup 2 years ago? Can Georgiev come back? What's Cal Petersen up to these days?
  11. Philip Rivers 44yr Grandfather coming out of retirement to play QB for the Colts.
  12. He's young. He'll be fine.
  13. Interesting chart from Micah McCurdy today. UPL and Ellis solidly bottom left. As in, facing fewer expected goals but giving up more goals on high danger chances anyway. Lyon in the middle. More expected goals faced but allowing fewer goals on high danger chances. Anyway, there's not much going on in the Sabres goalie pool that is any good. So I don't know why they're bothering to keep three at this point.
  14. What happened here?
  15. Nashville is hosting Colorado tonight. Maybe ROR wins them the game in OT? Anyway, if Nashville were somehow able to defeat Colorado tonight and the Sabres lose tonight... Then the loser of Thursday's game in Vancouver would be for last place in the NHL.
  16. Could you imagine being a business and needing to adjust your plans.
  17. Today
  18. Last year when Cozens was traded it seemed like there was mourning over his departure. Do it again, not for the heck of it, but reinforce the message. I'd never trade Dahlin (unless of course, he "didn't want to be here") but move Thompson out. Pegula ain't selling the team, nor is Adams getting fired. Even Ruff isn't going anywhere because the GM can't fire people without authorization and the job is so unattractive professionally speaking.
  19. That’s definitely very NHL
  20. DeBoer would be a choice I would jump up and down for simply because it was not coming from this incestuous cesspool of misery and failure... but like you I think the best we get is Keko and Appert and more failure as we watch players demand trades and all we get are picks and prospects.... I will say this.. please dont fire Lindy before Adams... I do not want Adams to make another coaching choice... then again its probably Pegula making the picks...
  21. DeBoer is out there. Maybe they make a coaching change soon but I doubt it since the plan was Lindy for 2 years and then Appert.
  22. The reasonable position to take would be that the Iggles keep the ball and continue that 2nd possession of the OT. However, technically, it is the 4th possession of OT and because the Bolts had the lead, the game should be over. Would be quite surprised if the league thought that far through their new OT rules, and considering they've already ignored a clear rule in a playoff game and allowed the backup refs to overturn the actual refs in said playoff game; expect that the league would ask itself "what would Taylor Swift want done here" and then act accordingly.
  23. Maybe not as earth shattering as some of you would like, but can we please trade Owen Power, and send UPL down to Rochester. We're not going to get better defensively with these two have a serious role for us.
  24. Yes, or you are not human.
  25. Today is the day.. they can establish a new lowest point in franchise history. It's important to have goals, in this case the good news is that the Sabres can achieve them without having to actually score goals.
  26. There is no reason to keep 3 goalies. UPL has not been good. Ellis has not been good. Pick one and move on. Also start Lyon, the season went to hell when Ruff or Adams or whomever decided that UPL and Ellis needed 9 out of every 10 starts.
