  1. Past hour
  2. Zegras to Philly
  3. Moot. Sounds like he's headed to Philly.
  4. I've mentioned Kesselring on my short list, there's also talk that the Mammoth want to move on from Matias Maccelli too. I wouldn't mind grabbing both for a prospect or 9OA and Byram. I'd also curious what Mercer cost from the Devils as to me he's a guy I wouldn't mind at 2C if elected to put Norris on the top line. JJP to me is a hard to lose guy as he's clearly a top end talent and unless we get a 50 game starting goalie for him or package him for a better Forward it makes little sense to move on from him.
  5. It doesn't work with a draft, and considering the league makes money on the draft i'd think that would be counterproductive.
  6. Zegres is one of those borderline guys that we could get and he possibly excel on our top line if felt wanted to move JJP to line 2 and move Benson to line 3 to balance lines more yet he's struggled with injury the last few years. With Norris already a question mark not sure if I'd take the chance.
  7. If nothing else it adds another option in the marketplace for teams
  8. Are there more than a small handful of AHL cities big enough to attract an owner that has the ability (and desire) to compete with NHL owners?
  9. I think Rossi is a better player. Zegras does have a playmaking element that he doesn't and the Sabres also lack. Might help the PP. He's in the last year of $5.7M deal and will be an RFA at the end.
  10. Zegras is a little “female dog”.
  11. Well, in Buffalo it would be great as local fans could just head down the Thruway to Rochester and Syracuse to catch some road games. Of course home games vs. Toronto would be flooded with Marlie fans.
  12. Yep, pay the man and move on, he is key for this team I want this team to win when Alex Tuch is on it
  13. "Fasten your seat belts...it's gonna be a bumpy week"
  14. I just dont know enough about Zegras Rossi I know is good defensivley and does play physical and with some bite From what little I know, I think Zegras has none of those qualities, excellent offensivley but thats about it
  15. Friedman: According to multiple sources, the Anaheim Ducks are in “significant discussions” with multiple teams on a Trevor Zegras trade, and the likelihood is growing the talented 24-year-old forward could be traded this week. Do we think he'd come cheaper than Rossi? Do we like him any better? Sabres have been interested in the past
  16. Today
  17. If it takes you a 7-8 year deal to get him for an 7-8 M per deal, you do it. The pay system is the pay system. If you don’t want to work within the framework that everyone else is working under, then get out of the business. The lesson to be learned is that third rate behavior leads to bush league results.
  18. I know Byram for Rossi could be viewed as sort of spinning the wheels, but Rossi on our team would be more valuable than Byram. I could think of worse trades (you listed them above).
  19. Offer 5x8.35mil, may even give him 6x8.35mil
  20. The Utah and Rangers deals just make so much sense, Kesserling would be a huge add as would Schneider could you make it a bigger deal to get Cuylle too I don’t know Could Utah deal be expanded to get Crouse or McBain i don’t know for Tampa it’s likely Cirelli as he has a no move right now, Cernak would be amazing but he has a no trade
  21. Some trade scenarios from the Athletic (pieces as part of packages): https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6444484/2025/06/23/sabres-jj-peterka-trade-destinations-nhl-teams/ The Leafs: Carlo Mammoth: Kesselring Rangers Miller, Cuylle or Schneider Canucks: Garland Lightning: Cernak Flames: Andersson or Coleman Islanders: Romanov, Dobsom or Pageau Penguins: Rust Jackets: Sillinger Blues: Neighbours, Kyrou or Parayko Devils: Mercer or Nemec Senators: Pinto or Zub Article seems to be purely speculative, matching interested teams with potential targeted returns
  22. Yes. He isn’t 100% dependent on speed and his primary RW competition is TNT on an excellent contract. If he gets to UFA, he’ll be in the 8.5 ballpark. If he has another season like the one he just did, and is the #2-3 UFA on the market next summer (excluding McDavid) he could be looking at 10+ with the cap as high as it will be.
  23. He has all the leverage. I'll go with 5 x $9MM and hope he says yes. Remember Skinner was already making $9MM with his last Sabre contract. Tuch is much more important than Skinner.
  24. I think people need to realize how ordinary a $7M NHL salary will be 3 years after the death of the flat cap world. There's a rude awakening coming. I think a better question is do you want to keep Tuch for $50-$60M or trade him for a lesser player and a couple picks/prospects? That's reality.
  25. I would love Gavrikov to pair with Dahlin. Play them 30 minutes a night.
