  1. Past hour
  2. Perhaps the stacked division coupled with a 3 game losing streak to start, instilled a sense of desperation in the team that's motivating them not to fall further behind. If they can turn it around to start winning more than they lose because that desperation, the desperation may become habit. As long as I've been a fan, when the Sabres hustle, they win. Let's hope the hustle we see becomes "normal" for this team.
  3. "Hey Uppie, how you feelin'?" "Great, I can't wait to get back to Buff...(Whack!)...OW!" All you have to say is "I'm happy we won" as a qualifier. It's like saying "I hope I'm wrong."
  4. Buddy, who posted this? "Anything that makes Pegula further believe KA is a competent NHL GM is a bad thing…a very bad thing." Making the playoffs qualifies as a positive for Kevy. Ergo....
  5. Was this effort tonight because they were trying their hardest for the rookie goalie or was it an attempt to establish a more physical net front game? I hope it's the later.
  6. omelette du fromage
  7. Take it easy there, filly.
  8. Big swing for Sabres sentiment in either direction against the Leafs. Will be deflating if they lose and fall multiple games under .500 again, while the Leafs move into winning territory. Will conversely be a nice boost to beat the Leafs and surge past them. *I know focusing on the standings this early is silly, but we also know the Sabres cannot afford to stumble early with how stacked the East appears to be, and how flawed the Sabres still look to be.
  9. Tuch is always going for corners, so missing the net comes with the territory. He could shoot into the goalie's crest each time. But -- that he's always missing the net is a fallacy. He simply alternates good and poor shooting percentages by season. This season is his down year. S% by year: 8.8 | 11.1 | 8.2 | 12.7 | 8.6 | 16.5 | 11.5 | 18.4 | 5.9 coming into tonight's game. The good news is the high percentage years keep increasing. Next year, he'll shoot 20%+ (for some team) and be a 45+ goal scorer.
  10. Three boys in a trenchcoat.
  11. I’ve always thought Tuch should buy a barn — maybe then he’d finally be able to hit the broad side of one consistently
  12. This line can play winning NHL hockey. 3 well balanced forwards with some size and speed and skill and grit. (Imagine them as a 3rd line!)
  13. Still leaves a lot to be desired with Norris out for so long. Big roles for 3 youngsters and McLeod is a 3rd line Center. think they need to make a move Leafs fans complaining about effort of their team IF the Sabres can bring this speed and energy against them, they could be looking at a 3 point weekend
  14. Tuch has the look of a guy right about to break out. Seemed like he got annoyed after he missed the net and then ripped that short side shot off the post...I'd bet on him to net one sooner rather than later. **his net-front presence/screen was a major factor on at least two goals tonight. Uh you mean KoSHAQ?
  15. Now, bully and harass Toronto to sweep the home-and-home, then revisit a reckoning upon the Bruins, and maybe they're on to something.
  16. i stg - if my sweet prince returns to form, i will be as giddy as a school girl. he looked terrific tonight.
  17. Best all around performance of the season so far. Fun game. Sabres still have lots of good young players with upside. Showed some willingness to mix it up too. Lots to like tonight.
  18. Well we saw one game from Ellis. He was good and he shows poise and mental strength. I think he needs to work on absorbing the puck more to prevent rebounds and better control the flow of the game. He need to see more. Kozak looks better than Krebs to me. Östlund played over 9 minutes, was +2 and had 1 shot, 1 hit, 1 blocked shot. I have to see more of Östlund to say he brings more than Krebs, but his ceiling is much higher and I’m pulling for some center help from Rochester this year.
  19. Kulich-McLeod-Östlund-Kozak should be the centre spine until Norris is back. I like Östlund’s game and Kozak is such a gamer.
  20. They won with 26, 72, 89 doing nothing on the scoresheet. Tuch did get himself in front of the net to contribute. We need the big guns to get going. With that said, it’s so nice to get a W with guys like Kozak, Timmins, Doan, Quinn contributing. Hats off to Ellis. Three huge stops on two breakaways and that two on one post-to-post stop was ten bells.
  21. This was a skill based game and the Sabres came out on top. Seeing Ellis win in his debut was awesome. Thompson and Tuch not producing. SMH. Tuch did provide good screens though. Thompson looks sluggish and lacks attention to detail.
  22. Today
  23. He has to give him a few games and UPL will probably win them and that will paralyze Adams.
