  1. Past hour
  2. We are not seeing any progress with Wahlberg. I don’t know what else to say. He’s just not good enough. The Russian kids on the blue line have not outperformed Ryan Johnson, just as an fyi. They are fine where they are. The Sabres need to get older, not younger (age 22 & 21). Neither are regularly on the top pair yet in ROC. If you trust Leone, that should tell you something. It’s also about time the Sabres played the long game with their blue line prospects.
  3. We must have been watching different Ostlunds than our friend in Georgia. Östlund didn’t look out of place in the least in his short stint.
  4. My FIL does the same. Drives my wife nuts.
  5. I have family members who pronounce words ending in W as almost an L sound. Example: Lowe’s is pronounced Lowls .
  6. It’s pronounced the same way as when you see Shaquille O’Neil in person and say to yourself: You-tall! 😀
  7. The second syllable. I’m fairly certain everyone pronounces U correctly. I’m sure there are weirdos who say something different. I had an employee who pronounced Saturday as sodder dee
  8. Today
  9. I’d suggest not making suggestions to me.
  10. I’d suggest re-watching the games. He is supposed to be a driver of offense and in his 4 games he created nothing (12 games including last year). Ruff skated him 10:50 a game with zero to show for it.
  11. X - X - Thompson Doan - McLeod - Tuch X - X - Quinn Malenstyn - Krebs - Greenway X - X - Geertsen Out: Benson, Norris, Zucker, Kulich, Danforth, Kozak Likely in the lineup next game: Östlund, Dunne, Rosén, and Geertsen? Krebs - Thompson - Greenway Doan - McLeod - Tuch Rosén - Östlund - Quinn Malenstyn - Dunne - Geersten Krebs got a look in preseason with Norris-TNT, so I'd presume he goes up the lineup. But Rosén or Östlund on TNT's line wouldn't surprise me to try to better balance out the AHLers.
  12. buffalobills.com of course lol. bills.com is not our bills, even tho our Bills are due. See also *****.com of the early WWW.
  13. I'm confused. Are you hung up on the U or the tah?
  14. Is there a statistic showing zone time possion on PPs? Do the Sabres do a better job of not giving up the blue line causing other team to fall back and waste time regrouping? Lord knows we have had our problems getting into the zone and setting up.
  15. You are the only person I’ve heard with that opinion of Óstlund.
  16. A local journalist says Yew-tah, I always thought he was wrong. Schopp might say it that way as well. I wouldn’t cite any central Pennsylvania pronunciation as rule of law as I can’t get past the may-zure pronunciation of measure.
  17. Be sure to accent the hard H.
  18. Do we have any forwards left? The Sabres are down to 8 NHL forwards - Thompson, Tuch, Quinn, Doan, McLeod, Greenway, Krebs and Malenstyn. The next guys are AHL callup Rosen, 4th line roster filler in Dunne and Geertsen. Next men up are Östlund (who looked lost in his callup), Helenius, who hasn’t played in the NHL and maybe Jake Leschyshyn?
  19. That's right. His first game after reclamation was against SJ.
  20. Huh? Is there really a difference between ah and aw? Say ah... aw she's cute. I think you're trying to capture how someone from Long Island would say it.
  21. Well at least the D-corps is healthy, because the forwards are at about 60% operational strength from the preferred roster.
  22. I guess I should have emphasized the “you” in how do you pronounce it, as I’m not overly interested in how it’s supposed to be pronounced.
  23. ...was there for a few weeks in October, just northeast of Ogden on an elk hunt. Its pronounced "yew-tawh"
  24. The same way Johnny Utah pronounced it.
  25. I’ve heard it both ways, have at it!
