  1. Past hour
  2. If he were good enough we wouldn’t have to imagine…..
  3. Since no one else has mentioned it: Tage Thompson loves him some Donnie Granato. Tage Thompson considers Jeff Skinner one of his best friends and favourite linemates ever Tage Thompson knows some people think Jack Eichel is a ***** but says he was always good to him, and that he admires and looks up to Jack.
  4. I’m not surprised at all. No way any of those guys come here if they are offered market rate.
  5. It's because Vegas let him get the surgery that we were not approving. Had we approved he'd likely still be here IMO.
  6. This should get some people talking lol.
  7. The premise of the post started with competent ownership and management. Its a faulty premise. Or maybe better stated as a fairy tale premise. Thats Ok. I’m not terribly invested in continuing anyway, so feel free to carry on without me.
  8. Sorry man. I was just trying to share how I feel about it.
  9. It’s so laughable that Adams put his focus on rebuilding the 4th line last offseason. You can find these guys for league minimum but Adams acted like it was a major project.
  10. If McDavid doing what he does and looking the way he does as he does it isn’t enough to back people off the “see, he couldn’t carry his team through!” argument, literally nothing can. That’s it The proof is in the pudding: you can perform to a level of aptitude greater than all who came before and it still can, quite clearly, not be enough. It’s just not the nfl or nba Can we imagine for a second what it would be like if McDavid got to touch the puck on literally every offensive possession the oilers had?
  11. Now I know you’re missing the point of the post. Look at the 19-20 roster. Competent or incompetent ownership, all those players, including Eichel and Reinhart were on the roster. The question is whether we could have let that group mature over a couple of years and where we would be if we had.
  12. I agree with you that the KA hire was an odd and inexplicable hire that has set back this franchise and not allowed it to move forward. The main reason that KA was hired was that he presented the owner with a rebuilding plan that was cheaper. That was the appeal and reason why he was hired. It’s not unusual that even someone with an impressive resume simply doesn’t work. You then move on in this highly turnover business. There is no rational reason for his retention after five years of less than mediocre work. The onus is on the stubborn owner for this faltering franchise.
  13. and you have Frank Gore Jr as a back who has potential and lineage.
  14. You know what Edmonton needs to do for the deadline? Trade some picks for Levi. That's their missing ticket. A Sabre with future potential.
  15. I’ve said falling back those two spots couples haunt us.
  16. Never say never. It was widely agreed by Gretzky et al last night that Tkachuk completely changed the culture in the Panther locker room. It made welcoming the hated Marchand possible as well. Adams doesn’t have the chops to pull off something similar. Likewise, Ruff wouldn’t have had a clue how to use them, imo. The game has passed him by. Maurice joined the Panthers in June ‘22. In three years he’s delivered 2 Cups, back to back. Sabres need a new GM, a new Coach, and a couple culture changers.
  17. Really hoping he brings some common sense and a better direction to this team. Love the Stahl hiring as well. Credibility is seriously lacking here. Time for the adults to build a team that can win!!!
  18. That would be sweet! But I just dont see it, after 2 years of Florida winning back to back cups, add in the last few years where size went early, I think you will see that trend again in this draft
  19. No I'm not. I'm noting a long overdue change in how they draft based on a previous comment about how they draft.
  20. EF just said on his 32 thoughts podcast that: Trent Fredric will be resigning long term with Edmonton at a low AAV, Bouchard will be resigning in Edmonton at a high AAV and the best news is he said there is absolutely no truth to the Tuch not wanting to re-sign rumors and that he will not be traded
  21. Today
  22. That is not something to me you can ever apologize for and have it mean anything other than you know you that you are a coward and wish you were not... to me its instinct... you cant train instinct... you can have people in the future go grab someone... thats nice... but if you are on the other team... knowing that there is serious intention and instinct not just preliminary obligation when something like that happens makes a difference... I can see it playing Mites or Bantams learning this but by the time you are in the NHL you should not need to be shamed into standing up for your family... it moves to the type of player and character that the incompetents that run this team target... Watching Brad Marchand go after whoever was infront of him no matter how big speaks volumes and shows deep contrast of who and how this team is made up... It is the antithesis of what I want in a team... and as far as Buffalo and its community the antithesis of who we are... or at least how I see us as a community... family, friends first, we are in this together.. times get rough but we help out... things get gritty but we stand up... we are not privileged as a community, we don't possess as a community the type of wealth that allows for routine luxury.... its one of the reasons I believe that the community has such a disdain for this team... (outside of the perennial losing and abject incompetence) but look the Ted Nolan teams lost too... but they stood up... I would say we liked those teams much better than this... at least i did... (No dont bring back TN LOL) anyways.... Lucic didnt break the Sabres... the vision of the GMs and the type of players we need broke the Sabres... start drafting some a**holes that are tough and can play... what Lucic did means nothing... continue trading or releasing away toughness (Foligno, Kassian, Kane, Zadorov, O'Reilly, Risto, Montour, Carrier, DesLauriers, Kulikov, Stewart etc...) and rewarding weak sloth and laziness.. you get what you always got... and no I am not looking to debate the merit of these trades, if they are needed etc.. just looking to point out what happens to players that have a bit of an edge on this team....
  23. You're rolling out a list of children as this team's solution to problem that has dogged it for a decade and I'm supposed to stop being negative? 😝
  24. Yup -- I think that is the toppermost priority (with goalie variance from year-to-year). I voted to make the pick because I believe if they're dead set on moving Byram then he can attain the RHD without also adding in #9. (If you were to package Byram+9 you'd better be getting... McAvoy/equivalent + a pick in return, and that'd be silly from an opposition perspective.)
